As we reported back on March 8th, Midway Games announced Friday in a press release that it is pulling out of the coin-op market to focus "on games for home game platforms, such as PlayStation2 , the Xbox system from Microsoft Corp. and Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s GameCube and Game Boy Advance." because of the "ongoing declining demand in the coin-operated arcade video game market".
Now since we've known this fact for the last few months, we knew the outcome of a situation like this. What this does is verify that we will most likely not see another Mortal Kombat sequel in the arcades. Now we can continue to ponder the bizarreness of the character sketch from yesterday.
