The
December 2005 update to the
Xbox backwards compatibility list for the
Xbox 360 has been posted and
Mortal Kombat: Deception has been removed from the list.
In our
Mortal Kombat: Deception on Xbox 360 feature from two weeks back, we exposed the numerous flaws in the
Xbox 360 emulation of the original
Xbox version of
Mortal Kombat: Deception, rendering the fighting game portions virtually unplayable. We contacted
Midway with our findings shortly after we published our
feature and it appears that
Microsoft has responded in this latest update with removing the title from the list.
What does all of this mean? At the least it means that
Microsoft is aware of the problems and removal may well mean that they are working on fixing them.
