Friday news story proclaiming the streeting of
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (
Xbox,
PS2) in the

EU countries, we mentioned the release of an
extremely graphic TV commercial over at ad agency,
Maverick Media.
New details have emerged on the ad campaign at
AdLand, which reports that the clip is a part of a "viral marketing" campaign designed to create awareness and buzz across
Internet sites via blog links. The commercial is an "exclusive to web" video and was apparently not produced for TV audiences as we reported earlier.
Most recently,
Burger King and their latest
promos, featuring their "King" mascot digitally inserted into
NFL game clips, has
created quite the stir by making its way around the
blogosphere.
