I'm 99% sure this announcement will be at the Spike Video Game Awards show that's happening in a couple of weeks. My prediction: MK9 on PS Vita

If I have to personally adjust my own television's screen display settings for a game to fill the screen in the year 2011 on a current generation console, then there's a huge problem. UMK3 allowed for that, and it looks phenomenal. No excuse whatsoever as to why the Kollection couldn't provide that option.

MKSM has absolutely no business even being acknowledged! Not a damn letter in that game was canon, and the development team STILL had the audacity to recognize the game as such! To hell with all future versions of that game!

Don't be so quick to compare Midway to NRS. Remember WB has the final say in these type of things now, whereas back in the day Midway always did rushed projects. Hence, the crap-tastic Armageddon and MKvsDC. NRS took all the time that they needed to make an AWESOME MK9 game, which is something they couldn't do before, because Midway had limited resources. I don't doubt that with the funding from WB, and enough time on their hands, that NRS could make a GREAT actionadventure game. Besides, with NRS NOT working on anything new for MK9 and Carlos Pesina doing NEW mocap, it could only mean 1 of 3 things: (a) They're working on MK10, (b) They're working on an action adventure MK game, (c) They're working on a NEW game that's NOT related to MK.
A new actionadventure MK game doesn't necessarily have to be a direct sequel to that game... especially if Rocksteady is involved.

I agree with the above. And its completely right. Rare is owned by Microsoft. So unless Rare or Microsoft sell the rights to the KI IP NRS can't go anywhere near it.

If anything it was a joint effort with hardware provided by nintendo (it had a 100Mhz R4600 CPU... the N64 had a 93Mhz R4300i), customized and put together by midway (it used their DCS sound system like MK2 and later had).. stuck in their own cabinet and software by Rare. Midway's role it seems was to facilitatepublish the arcade release. Hell, midway probably developed the hardware with some prototype specs from nintendo and included some stuff they where getting into at the time like hard drives in arcade machines which they ended up using in other machines of the time and of course stuff they where already using (DCS). The home version which ended up being on the SNES and Gameboy and was quite scaled down from the arcade was purely by Rare and published by Nintendo AFAIK.

enexpected? that phrase hasn't gone to well for us MK fans. I'm sure we all remember vs DC and Freddy right?

Turns out this was the last game ever released by Midway, who was already in a bad financial situation to begin with (they had been operating at annual net losses since 2000). As for Freddy Krueger? I didn't care too much for MK VS DC, it had nothing to do with the super heroes and violence being toned down, the gameplay just felt rushed and noobish. I also couldn't take the game seriously, because of silly features like Free Fall and Klose Kombat. I wouldn't mind them giving that crossover one more try, it has to have the same gameplay as MK9, I'd rather have MK10 and MK VS KI tho.

So it isn't MK vs DC 2. It isn't MK10 but it's still MK-related, so it isn't a new IP. And it ain't MK9 DLC-related or UMK9. So the suprises have gotta be a MK action-adventure game, something related to MK Vita and/or a MK character being DLC for Batman: Arkham City.

Are they still making a season 2 for MK Legacy or was it scrapped after they got the movie deal?
