As expected, the Rain gameplay trailer is now released over at GameSpot. The trailer also reveals his release date of next Tuesday, July 19th. Check out Rain's new moves and awesome water effects in the gameplay trailer below.

I've been excited for Rain since E3 2010. It's just a damn shame that it took THIS long to finally get him in. Get ready for the flood of "Ooh, Rain is my new favorite character" bandwagoners. LOL

Not exactly what I imagined, but he has everything I was asking for. Very good NRS!

I can already hear the 'he's my new main'! crowd running toward this thread salavating, only to abandon Rain two weeks after release. I'm over the bloody moon that he has his UMK3 moveset back!

Absolutely outstanding. The DLC becomes better each time they come out almost.

I could care less about using him online. As long as he's part or MK 9, and the Trilogy roster is complete, I'm happier than a pig in shit.

ok, so rain is straight up badass. His moves, a little silly, look like they will be really fun to use, especially the pacman physics punching he can do. I also like the x-ray

I'm so happy with Rain! Now MK Trilogy is complete! Aside from looking cool, he got his moveset from the old game! I was hoping for the lighting, that orb thingy and his roundhouse kick! Yay! <3

About time! The roundhouse kick is in, the control bubble too. I haven't been this excited for a character since Kabal's reveal half an year ago. And his win pose, look at his hands, just like old Rain. I also wonder if that's his enhanced lightning or the regular one. I guess we'll see next week. Awesome.

His moves and, combo ability looks bad ass. I'm definitely hyped!

He looks like a pretty strong character. By far the best cinematography of the bunch thus far.

Give it about a week or so after his release..people won't be using him as much as you think. Look at Skarlett.. people said they were gonna main her as soon as they heard she was gonna be DLC. Now you hardly see her online lol. Same with Kenshi pretty much.

Rain looks amazing! I really like him but....I don't think I'll use him more than Kenshi :P

Imho I'm not liking that he has all these special moves I just expected water bubble,roundhouse,and lightning. Not all thses other thimgs that open up opportunities for imbalances, nonetheless though he looks pretty epic.

I actually liked the first one a lot bc it goes back the exaggerated cartoony fatalities instead of the gory and serious ones in MK9. The dude gets inflated by water common lol

I dont understand this either. I mean if you cant get the DLC characters cause youre broke thats fine. But who on this earth turns down free Klassic Kostumes? Doesnt make any sense.

I thought his X-Ray was bad ass. And one of the more realistic looking ones. The way that arm snaps and just flops there is exactly how it looks in real life. As someone who has broke both of my arms when I was younger that X-Ray made me cringe like no other has.

They should have just made them mandatory... From what I understand, the main reason they didn't was due to the fact that some people don't have harddrives for the XBox 360, therefore, those people wouldn't ave been able to play online at all. Other reasons I can think of for not downloading them? People are either too lazy to, or they don't have enough room on their harddrive and don't want to delete something. Oh great. Another teleport heavy character, who happens to be a ninja. That's a new one! I never cared for Rain before this game, and this game isn't going to make me care about Rain. To me, Rain is the free DLC character in my season pass. I'm looking forward to the 4th DLC character. That said, Rain's fatalities look sweet.

Very much agree with all of that. Hopefully NRS will listen to the fans the true Hardcore MK fans and make these packs mandatory. Theyre pretty good about listening and trying to fix things to keep us happy. I mean we got Rain after everyone *****ed about him not being in. Maybe when this 4th DLC drops they'll make one big compatibility patch that you have to download to play online. So then itll fix this problem with one fell swoop. And these packs barely take up any space so it just doesnt make sense why you wouldnt download them.

Lol Rain Was Super Killa. Man I always loved his character and gameplay. Idc to play with him online, because i didnt buy this game for the online mode, that would be stupid lol. Anyways imma murk me some spammers A$$ wit him hahaha.

Looks pretty cool but I'm not sure about that fatality where he makes the opponent swell up. It just doesn't look very serious enough. I hope Kitana's Kiss of Doom won't do that. But maybe I might get him, especially if Sonya's alternate outfit comes with him.

Rain's gameplay looks awesome. I wonder if he is going to be the son of Argus or not? His story trailer should be out soon I hope.

YES! That was fantastic! Rain looks beast. The water effects look great. ROUNDHOUSE KICK! And I'm glad to see they kept his lightning special. Only thing I was iffy on was his first fatality. The idea of it is great, but it looks a little cheesy.

Agreed RM but as cheesy as it is it gives me that nostalgic feeling. Like the first time I saw Kitanas Kiss of death fatality. And Ermacs pest control fatality is ridiculous as well and I hated it at first but really its classic MK. MK has always been over the top and in this game the brutality is really turned up to 11 so IMO it could use a few fatalities that are a little ridiculous.

So are we getting Klassic Kostumes with Rain or not? Rain looks amazing by the way I cannot wait to give him a go.

At around 0:37 when he's fighting Mileena, is this an Alt costume that I have not noticed yet or an easter egg for upcoming DLC costumes? Ignore, I just looked it up.

Not bad, and about damn time I see a X-Ray that goes for the arms. I seen too much leg, skull and rib breaking, but never seen anyone goes for the arms until now. His first fatality looks awfully funny.

I'm not vibing with Rain at all. He looks kind of dumb to be honest, like he's the first character whose a bit too cartoony for this MK and doesn't fit Though I wasn't a fan of Rain at all in past MKs so it's just my opinion. I found the part in the trailer funny when he's squirting Ermac in the face with water and Ermac's getting hurt. Reminded me of the Naked Gun movie when a guy throws a towel at Drebin's face and he starts screaming. Dude it's just water

Of course he'd be released the day I leave for Comic Con . Self-pity aside, he looks seriously badass, and I can't wait to play as him!

His kombo's are kind of a mix of Noob & Reptile copies, I don't feel like buying him, but, I'll just play against him online before I buy him to get a sample. Fatalities are awesoem though, lol.

Little disappointed because of NO intro line what so ever, to make up for that they bought back all those old MKT moves he had. I am curious as to what kind of combos people are going to produce from this character.

DLC characters probably dont have dialogue because NRS would have to pay a voice actor to do the lines. Although I dont understand why they wouldnt just get a NRS team member to do it. Ed does scorpions voice.

Wow, they even brought back the super roundhouse. That's... well ****, it's awesome. I didn't expect him to have all his classic moves, but obviously he's actually going to have limitations on them this time, so it's definitely not a problem. I can't wait. I got bored of Skarlet and Kenshi pretty quick, but hopefully things will be different this time around.

Just cause you didn't hear him talk in the trailer, doesn't mean he won't talk ingame. Ed actually didn't do Scorpion's voice in MK9, according to IMDB... Guy named Patrick Seitz did. -Bill

I seriously love what they did with rain... i never liked rain, but his moves look so good and well done. i hate that they show the fatalitys in the trailer.... lol i close my eyes! But really for DLC they should be coming out with three or even four fatalitys rather then two.

There's actually pretty strict rules on voice overs, their union is pretty tough. You'll see a lot of famous people do one off voiceovers on cartoon shows get credited under fake names to avoid having to join the union for one gig. There was a pretty famous case of the guy who voiced Spike from Cowboy Bebop doing so under a fake name, and everyone had to pretend there were two guys with the same distinctive and recognizable voice as to not get him in trouble since he did commercials under his real name. I would imagine Ed gets a pass for "get over here" since it dates back to 1992 and the original MK so there's probably some sort of grandfather policy. You can tell any time Scorpion has any dialog that it's a different person doing the voice.

Mmm... i'm a bit sceptic, I see some kind of noob teleport move, sektor teleport punch move and nightwolf lighting... I already thought that from the start it would be difficult to give em very different movesets... will have to test him...

Can't wait until the 19th. I love every single DLC character and I can't believe how much time and effort NRS has put into this game. Each character has a wallpaper, trailer, vignette, I'm just so impressed. If we get more than 4 characters, I will be so happy. Hotaru, Havik, Tanya, Drahmin would all make me happy but I'm not opposed to Kai, Khameleon, Sareena and Fujin either. I just don't want Shinnok, and would rather they save him for another game.

Cant wait for some Rain!!!!! Been savin up points! I know i know why didnt i buy the season pass? Well Skarlett wasnt that big of deal to me so in the end ill still only pay 15 moneys cause im only buying the three characters i care about. That is if the last guy/girl after rain, is even worth it. Maybe ill go back and buy her later on for completionist sakes..i do love me some MK and its good to have a wide verity so the game doesnt get stale. But for now she doesnt matter to me and if i pay 20 in the future when i couldve just paid 15 now...well i really dont care i like to pay for my characters when i want them. it was nice to have the option though the season pass was very cool. But i had 5 dollars before i had 15 so...whatever.

Trying to stay positive about this character until he drops, but not too excited for him compared to Kenshi. Just seeing too many borrowed moves. Also theres not much about a water based ninja that seems lethal. Just a little too jokey for my taste, but hopefully NRS will change my mind.

Yes! One of my favorite characters has finally made it to the arena. I couldn't think of a funny enough Purple Rain joke so I'm very disappointed in myself.

Why is it everytime I see a thread about rain, I keep hearing "Nightwolf's lightning"? He's had that move since MKU3 (on the snes (because it was the best system in it's day) that is :P)!
