Finally after long wait, the first online mode video has been revealed. In this new video over on IGN, NetherRealm Studios Senior Producer Adam Urbano and Senior Software Engineer Tony Smith discuss the new online feature King of the Hill. In King of the Hill mode matches are spectated by friends which can then Boo or Cheer you along which thusly reward the players with Respect Points after the match. A nice touch is that every player can use their Xbox 360 Avatars or custom chosen PlayStation 3 Avatars and are all seen sitting and watching the game happen.
The whole thing reminds me Mystery Science Theater 3000. Can't wait to get into my first King of the Hill match myself! Do you think you can meet Adam Urbano's challenge and find the hidden things in King of the Hill?

another kool stuff is our social profile showing KOTH stats, all the unlocked stuff and progress in the game
yes you did see someone hold up a cheese wedge, looks fun. I feel even more confident that the inputs that Ed tweeted a month or so ago are indeed for this mode as I had figured all along and not for Shao Kahn as some believe.
This video just makes me more and more disappointed with Marvel vs Capcom 3. NRS makes Capcom look like rookies when you compare the amount of stuff you can do in both games...
This game seems to be loaded with excellent features. The 1 week break I asked from work when the game will be released won't suffice, I need to ask for one more...

I don't know, MK isn't worth getting fired from work.
does anyone know if they will let you have 2 players or 4 on one console in king of the hill? i dont see why not but we all hoped for 4 player online tag matches too any news would be nice thanks

I really like the idea of "King Of The Hill" mode. I also love that PlayStation owners get a MK avatar, I like the way they look way more than any avatar I would create on XBox Live.

yes, you can do it and you can put a password to it
how come the ps3 version has no timer? also the xbox version says the gamertag instead of the character?

It's so cool throwing tomatoes to matches that suck. The avatars are awesome, great use for them. Finally, Stryker's victory pose was like another fatality, awesome. Have to play this game like... now!!

Damn this looks fun. It brings back the old arcade days where everybody got around the cabinet to watch you play some MK. The cheering and booing is a great touch from NRS.

Yeah this is a good development Indeed... Now I am hoping it will also contain Voting (i.e.for the next stage, kick / ban or mode type Kombat Kodes etc) room chat and Custom SFX playable and only heard by spectators...
Oh this is just great does anyone remember the quake sounds they need some commentary like this to pump it up for the king of the hill and the spectators "DOMINATING!!!" like the dark quake sounds and normal and the female or along those lines

Oh just the feeling when you heard those sounds!!! could easily be implemented just before the next match and flash the win counter at certain points 1/2/4/8/12/16/24/32 for everyone to hear somthing like that as the king of the hill gets more and more wins makes you want to get him/her off the top more and drives the player to have a big piece of text flash up on the screen for instance "*Username*is GODLIKE!" accompanied by the sound made of win everytime for everyone and sets the bar and lets everyone know about it
I am really liking the idea of the king of the hill mode, its nice to see that fighting games are opening up interaction between spectators and players, too many fighting games just stick to the standard vs and its boring for spectators
