As promised, the newest GameTrailers TV episode is on right now. From the intro segment it appears that Spike TV is set to unveil Kabal as the newest Mortal Kombat (2011) Character.

The entire episode is up on GameTrailers TV. For now you'll need to skip to the fourth chapter to see the Kabal reveal.

Here is a direct screenshot taken from a TiVo rip of mine to show Kabal's new character detail. As you can see his skin is now showing the most damage we've seen yet in his various incarnations. Other parts of his outfit have also got visual upgrades that I think look great. He's identifiable yet not an exact copy of previous incarnations.



Also here's a quick recap of what was shown during the clip:

• Kabal's got similar moves as before


• Kabal's got a devistating X-Ray move where he uses the hooks


• Re-imagined Soul Chamber stage shown for the first time


• Kabal's air splice Fatality was also shown

Also during Kabal's Fatality is a stage we can't identify. It seems to be filled with dead bodies on the ground, but the background can't be seen because of the Fatality darkness.



Any ideas what stage that maybe be? Could this be the first look at Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits?

I don't have Spike TV, So I havent seen him yet, and I'm so thrilled to!

AHHHHHHH! Can't wait to see some images. How does he differ from his usual looks?

I LOVE KABAL Not as much as I love Raiden but this is awesome.

I only saw the first part of his x-ray move. He slides In on his back and breaks both there shin bones...

i just seen a clip, he looks awsome he has a sliding move for his x-ray ,he also has a nice spin move combo where he uses his hooks. tune in to spike tv rite now, they also said they are going to reveal his "FATALITY"

He slides on his back it looks like feet first across the screen. Both shin bones, tibia and fibia break just above the ankle. Then runs back the way he came, returns from the other side behind the opponent and both hook swords go in behind the sholder blades. He turns his back to the opponent, hooks the swords under their armpit, and throws them over his head. Skin on his arms are exposed, as well as his neck, and it is all scarred tissue from burns.

His fAtality was nice. Basically the other guy gets sent into the air then he uses his hook sword thing and the other person comes down and get spilt in half and the head is still on the hook. It's beautiful

Kabal was AWESOME, and so was his fatality. I won't spoil the fatality, but it was so sweeeeeeet!!!!!

his x-ray: slide kick to double shin break, comes up behind the enemy and hooks em in the back, different animation then nightwolfs. he twists the hooks as he turns 180 and throws them across the stage. Fatality: very similar to his MK:D fatality, he axe kicks them up and he slices them in half vertically but the head catches on the hook and stays there. He also sounds like a Ghost from starcraft

I must've missed it, I had it on but didn't see it at all...next thing you know manswer is on lol

Kabal looks so badass! Never been a big fan of him but he looks great and his moves are really well done. NRS has done such a good job of making every character look interesting and make u want to master all of them. His fatality was pretty sick too, sure its a slash fatality but its presentation is unique.

In the shot after the x ray move he's fighting stryker and he definately is not wearing his mask.

In the Australian classifications fatality list they had Kabals fatality as "him pulling out their intestines with his hook swords". I think that's what Ed Boon hinted at when crossing the line. I really believe that the first of all characters fatalities are going to be cut points and the rest of the fatalities will be something intricate like Kabal pulling out someone's intestines. I have a feeling. And my feelings seem to always be right so far. And Kabal looks SICKENLY amazing. He's just looks absolutely beast like. I'm glad they kept his old feel altogether. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I agree 100% with you. I liked how Ed says that one of the fatalities "crossed the line" then he says "ONE of his fatalities is..." and then they show the fatality that was shown. Again, I agree with you that the one that crossed the line is the one you mentioned, as the fatality shown, which was pretty awesome, does not quite push anything more than we have already seen. Man, I want to see those intestines ripped out. All in all, I'm glad we saw what we saw, he looks pretty awesome.

He looks okay, I guess. I was hoping for something better - But it'll do.

It may be the Flesh pits. Which have been announced as a stage but not seen.

After seeing im in the good quality video, I like how he looks. Still too much black, but not bad. I'm so excited to use him though.

Pit bottom was revealed when the "Challenge Tower" Was revealed...Aaaaand the Wasteland was revealed in Liu Kangs Fatality Video. So....I'm confused as well..Why couldn't it just be the soul chamber from a different view?? I'll re-look it.

It looks like the wasteland, you probably cant see the background due to the darkness during the fatality, but you never know?

I always thought Kabal was one of the more cheeseball adds to the roster for MK3, but it looks like they've finally gotten the design right on him. I have to admit, he looks extremely fun to play with.
