The official Mortal Kombat Twitter account just posted the first official look at Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade from the upcoming live action Mortal Kombat digital series.



A bit of trivia is mentioned in the caption, as it was learned yesterday that Jeri Ryan shares a birthday with Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon.

Seeing as filming is completed, it wouldn't be too surprising to see this series show up sometime around the launch of Mortal Kombat (2011) on April 19th, 2011.

Looks awesome. Though I'm a little surprised that filming is done. I take it this series will be kinda short.

the series is going to consist of 10 episodes and yes the first episode is scheduled to be released the same day as the game, April 19th

now that is what sonya is supposed to look like. bridgette wilson was chosen for her pretty looks, but didnt have a muscle on her. Her fight scene in MK was weak. Jeri ryan looks hardcore, serious, scarred, and fit and is a PERFECT sonya. She is gonna kick some ass. Im very happy with the casting and the hardcore direction. about time.

anyone know if they're releasing them all at once or do you have to wait for each episode to come out?

Man I agree that is defiantly how Sonya should look. I am wondering if that is Kano with her in the pic. She defiantly looks disturbed at the person in the pic and who else would mess with Sonya tied up? Kano.

Fuking Badass, I know for a fact that is Kano, look closely you can see a hint of Red/Orange Hue coming off from the side a wee bit, and Jeri looks Sexy as hell, who cares bout her age, I'd tap it any time of the day, and she defiantly has the look of Sonya, a much needed redesign from her previous last film appearance, can't wait. so to all the hater I leave you this little due flicking you off

Jeri looks like she will make a great Sonya, but I don't think this series will be as good... I think the changes they made are meh but we'll see I guess...
