Tonight at the Spike TV Video Game Awards, Kratos from the God of War series was officially unveiled to be entering the Mortal Kombat (2011) Tournament on the PlayStation 3. Here is the bad ass announcement trailer:

We don't know more beyond the previously leaked information. Hopefully we'll get more details about his inclusion in the coming weeks.

Update: Sadly Mortal Kombat (2011) did not win the Most Anticipated Game of 2011, that went to the Portal 2. It was a tough fight fans, but thanks for all the write in votes for the game. We heard MK actually had a shot, but it's hard to win when the game wasn't given a proper nomination slot.

That is so awesome! Kratos is a great fit with the MK Universe and as he's not in the story then it doesn't majorly affect the game Can't wait to see what fatalities they come up with for him!!

Damn, MK didn't win most anticipated game. I'm bummed. The trailer was cool for what it was, but I was really hoping to get some gameplay video out of this.

I don't think we've seen ANY gameplay for anything at the VGAs. That's so not "cool"

I demand a recount. Oh well I would like to see the numbers though. Just see how close it really was.

Oh yeah, good point. I guess I haven't been paying a hell of a lot of attention. I saw the Arkham City trailer, the MK trailer, Olivia Munn, and... everything else is kind of a blur.

You gotta admit, that trailer screams nothing more than badass-ery.

Crap, completely forgot about this and only caught the last part with the Uncharted 3 teaser (which had me salivating). The vid isn't loading for me so I'll have to watch the replay for the terrible ceremony for MK. Batman is looking extremely hot too... God, WB Games is going to have a great 2011.

Bleh. Waste of good CGI. I was totally feeling it until egg head showed up.

This is pretty amazing. They could have revealed a little more or made the video longer. Huge GOW fan and would love to know how they tie him into the game. Very interesting.

Poor Sub-Zero they get to wipe the floor with him lol. I expected to see a little more in this vid, at least now we are sure he'll be included.
