will something like this be available for PS2?

It should be via a Action Replay code, that's esentially all the Xbox "trainer" is. I'd guess to see Game Action Replay codes within a few weeks or so.

Very Kool, but if thats the case there is probably going to be real codes to unlock these characters dont you think?

You know, they say that it'll crash in vs mode, whether by stage or by character fatal..... wonder what it would do to Chess Kombat....

Yeah or Puzzle Kombat? I have a question. In the EGM Magazine it shows Sub-Zero with his Alt Costume in Puzzle Kombat, But you cant get Alt costumes in Puzzle. Whats up with that?

I got to try out the trainer finally, I have a few things to note below along with some screenshots. 1) You can enable the "Unplayables", you can get unlimited health, one hit kills, lock the timer at 60 seconds. And you can also get max money for the Krypt and also the ability to unlock all locked krypts. Here is the options of the trainer. <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled100.jpg> 2) None of the characters have special moves, except for Monster who is just another costume for Scorpion. So our hopes of having Cage, Kitana, Kung Lao, or even Onaga are wearing thin if the characters don't have any built in special moves in the game. This is not a side-effect of the hacking because Monster has moves and moves lists, none of the other characters do. Just two fighting styles and a weapon (or three Dragon Styles if you are Onaga). All the moves are generic like "Special Moves Name" and "Style Two Attack One". See examples below: <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled100.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled101.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled102.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled103.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled113.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled114.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled116.jpg> 2) If you play as Onaga and let the computer defeat you, it goes into his death animation. But no game ending, it asks you to continue. You can see it here: <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled104.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled105.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled106.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled107.jpg> The characters able to be played as are as follows: Monster, Onaga, Jax, Old Raiden, Quan Chi, Kung Lao, Cage, Sonya, Nitara, Shang Tsung, Frost, Kitana and Drahmin. I have included a few of those characters here. <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled108.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled110.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled111.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled112.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled115.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled117.jpg> <img src=http://www.trmk.org/images/mkd/hacked/untitled118.jpg> NOTE: The pictures may look funny (squished) because they are taken from a 16x9 mode of MKD. And also due to movement some of the characters look blurry, this has to do with interlaced television signals, I don't have a HDTV card for my PC or I'd provide some very sweet looking HDTV progressive scan hi-def photos from MKD.

So Patrick... How exactly do you hack your Xbox to get that stuff?
October 20th, 2004 5:21 PM CST - Scorpion
My only question is this... why would the following characters even have a 3D model for kombat if they aren't unlockable to use?!? Kung Lao, Nitara, Frost, Kitana and Drahmin!! You don't train or fight any of these people in the konquest mode!! Why would there 3D models even be in the game?!?

You make a good point there... Which also makes one wonder if they are unlockable somewhere in the game than.

Again the characters have any special moves, so I don't see why they would be unlockable. It just doesn't make sense to me to have an unlockable character without any special moves to use with him.

They have updated the trainer to remove the fatality timer, so you take as long as you want now. They are also working on figuring out one button fatalities, they are about 1/2 way there but not sure if it's going to happen or not. I'll keep everyone posted here.

I just stick the disk in my freind's super high-tech computer and screw around with the writting in the progrmming. :D But some times it fucks up the game.

Because it may screw up my game, I ain't getting it.

where did u get those pics of Quan Chi, Jax, Kitana, Onaga, and Monster especially? Sorry if this is kinda an old thread, Im curious
March 12th, 2005 10:58 PM CST - Patrick McCarron
I used the codes/cheat methods described in the news story to produce those photos. Very similar to a Game Shark code or similar to the various consoles.
March 13th, 2005 7:30 AM CST - Kal-El
could you get me a better picture of Monster, if its not too much trouble
March 13th, 2005 7:47 AM CST - Prophet
I have an ideal solution for Drahmin, etc. This should get me Karma . Maybe they thought of adding unlockables, but ran out of time, similar to what they did with MK:DA.

If they did, then it seems they do that all the time. In MK 3 they planned to have Scorpion, Jade, Kitana and Mileena in the game but never had the time so they waited till UMK3. Then in MK4, they made 3 arcade versions, each one with more stuff then the rest and Kitana was supposed to be in MK4 but again didn't have the time so they waited till MK Gold.

Exactly my point.

There sprites may be in there because of testing purposes. During the making of a game sometimes creators create *dummy* characters and things to test out the game is working. When they are sure they have it done and signed they either scrap the character or for some strange reason leave it in the game as just useless info. I believe the kiddies game POKEMON ( I can't believe I mentioned this pure crap game) has this sort of thing in it. The other reason may be that they were orginally intended for you to be able to play as them and then decide not to and scrapped the idea. Again many games have done that for many reasons... Too many bugs n that character, game files ending up too large or they didn't think the character was great in the end. Many many reason why this happens. OR theres what Prophet said... they just ran out of time.

To add to what Angel said, the MKDA characters are in there purely for the ability to fight them in Konquest. Their files names in the game code are even MKDA_name. They were never intended to be playable, that'd be too many players in the game and could throw off balancing of the game.

If that was the case they properly have info for them in the files cause they properly played around the characters personnelly until the AI system was put in place. You know, just checking first hand everything was working. Again for testing purposes. If I could be bothered I'd list several games that did this. But I feel just too dam lazy to do it right now. All game programmers develope these little things to help them test out a character or a file. But until they tell us fans we'll never know the turth about this case and we'll continue to make thoeries as to why.

Same thing happened with all the MK games...........MK Revision 0.9 beta, etc. They only had 6 characters and you could perform a fatality on Shang Tsung and when he beat you, he had fatality time on you as well. You couldnt pick same character. Reptile and Sonya were added in later versions. Same thing with MK2. MK2 Revision 1.1 had only half of the fatalities and special moves and half the endings....etc.
