Gamespot just concluded a live stream of Mortal Kombat (2011) a few minutes ago over at their Live E3 Site. It was the internet debut of the much anticipated fighter. In it they sat down with MK Team members: Ed Boon, Paulo Garcia and John Edwards. The host interviewed Ed while Paulo and John demoed some gameplay.

John Edwards, Paulo Garcia & Ed Boon

One new previously unknown bit was revealed. There will be a system of respect points in the multiplayer mode of the game. It sounded that other players spectating your fight can reward you respect for doing well, etc. These points will work towards Achievements and Trophies along with other things, Ed said.

Gamespot now has the video available online you can also view our YouTube stream of the gameplay.

Is John Edwards that guy that in MKSM said if you killed him and luhp (or Puhl, something like that) that you would get 10,000,000 points?

Well that looks VERY promising. I'm guessing that the X-ray moves will be akin supers in SF; namely blockable. If it was mentioned, sorry, I watched the vids without audio. Are they using UE3 again?

Not sure about blockable or not. We'll have to ask someone who played.

I had to shut them up, too. I watched the video so it doesn't need to be explained.

The video looks Excellent with only little things I notice from Mk vs DC, that is Subzero;s pose looks Identical, Also first round when scorpion wins subzero gets up the same way he did in MKvs DC which is fine but scorpion gets up the same way when he loses the next match. Hopefully they will not miss that and make them very unique. Right now there intros are very Unique and cool. Heres hoping the finish product will get a straight 10 and beat street fighter.

Holy crap. This is going to be the best game of 2011, especially if Team MK is as active with the DLC as Capcom is with Street Fighter. Anyone who has complaints about the game play and graphics at this point is a damn fool.

you guys need to download the raw video with steady frame rate from gamespot its about 660mb, your eyes will bleed after playing that video on your ps3

We can't legally provide a download link to the footage, you have to pay GameSpot for that privilege.

I got the HD video from Gamespot, I payed like 2 bucks for one month, that is the only way to get it, and I cant upload it online cause I'll get in trouble :S

That's cheap. I might do this then at my cousins house. I'm downloading the 200MB HD video. Is it that much of a difference?
June 18th, 2010 12:54 PM CST - Patrick McCarron
200MB looks good, I'm putting up a YouTube copy for you guys as well.
June 18th, 2010 1:24 PM CST - KBadOne
The 200 mb video on youtube quality is really bad compared to the 660mb version. The frame rate is all over the place on that one, and its not quite sharp as the 660mb version, ill post comparison pics in a moment youtube 145mb HD version 660mb HD version

I am uploading the 660 to YouTube so it should be pretty good in their 720p video mode, much better than uploading the 200MB version. It'll be done processing shortly, then I'll post it up here.

I mean popping up and saying his famous line "Toasty!" in the middle of the game. But, maybe they'll put him in later. You can't call it a Mortal Kombat reboot without "Toasty"!

I love it!!!! I guess that's what Johnny gets for punching Kung Lao at the nuts. I'll want to completely get the game once I see more of what I want to expect from the game.

They're pushing the new version well then, particularly with the texture fidelity. Hopefully they'll be able bump up the rendering resolution to 720p and opt out of using quincunx AA on the PS3.

This is incredible...it's everything I've ever wanted in an MK game and the graphics and fatalities are hands down the BEST in the series. Gameplay looks world's improved from everything prior as well. Tag Kombat, EX moves and Supers, juggle combos, the works! Hopefully all the haters will actually look at MK like it's worth something now!
