Midway has released a new high-resolution renders of Shao Kahn and Darkseid the main villians from the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.




Midway also released another Developer Diary today entitled "Crossing the Finish Line". This posting is by Hans Lo and discusses the efforts that go into the final weeks before the game's release. Here's a snippet:

Well we all are getting to enjoy sleeping in our own beds again, leaving the office at normal hours and getting reacquainted to our friends and family who have been oh so patient with us in letting us indulge in our passion for making games. It's funny to look around the team members now and remember what they all looked like at the beginning of the project. As for me, I finally got to get a haircut and some solid sleep. I no longer look like a B-movie zombie. Little kids no longer run away from the sight of me…

I love how brutal Shao Kahn looks. Darkseid looks aiet to.

darkSEID!!! SWEET!!! I love how they MK-ized him, while keeping a sort of classic feel! OH! And also, Shao Kahn looks sexier than ever LOL!

You could hear from that far away Tim? I do indeed love it. His teeth are throwing me off a bit though...dunno if I like his teeth pointy. But I always knew Kahn would look amazing. Darkseid is the real treat here. He looks better than I'd hoped. I mean, in the comics he was just a guy in a tunic with a rock-like face. They really took that rocky skin thing to a whole new level, added gauntlets, totally updated look. I love it.

Saw this on MKU thanks to Tim, awesome renders! I don't know who looks more evil honestly, but Shao Kahn looks incredibly realistic like the actor who played him that body build physique is dead on.... And Darkseid just looks pure evil and badass!

Yeah, thanks I knew it was Brian something lol I couldn't remember his last name..Steve Richie did the voice of Shao Kahn and the MK2 and MK3/UMK3 and MKT announcing ; )

Let's get him back! "You will die mortal" is one of the best lines in MK!

Agreed. Nobody and nothing can match up to Steve Richie's Shao Kahn. He is the James Earl Jones of MK, man!

Kahn looks badass as usual. This is the first I've seen of Darkseid, so I don't have much to say about that.

Sadly Steve is at Stern Pinball now, that's why he doesn't do the voiceovers anymore. He's a pinball designer, one of the best ever, and that's still what he does today. Ed and Mike Boon both started in Pinball but moved to video later in their careers but Steve stayed in Pinball.

Awesome. Thanks for that tidbit Pinball rules. I've always dreamed of getting a MK pinball game, based off of MK1.
