GameTrailers TV, a video game show on Spike TV hosted by Geoff Keighley, will air exclusive gameplay footage from Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe late Friday evening/early Saturday morning (7/5) at 1:00am EDT/12:00am CDT. Creative Director Ed Boon will be on the show to give a behind the scenes look at the crossover fighter. Expected to be revealed on the show are a number of characters to be included in the game from both the Mortal Kombat and DC Universe franchises. Plus, the final word on the inclusion of actual fatalities in the game will also be a topic.

Sounds like the big reveal of Midway's plans for E3 will be made public tomorrow night. Make sure you make a point to stay up late or set your DVRs to Spike TV at 1:00am EDT/12:00am CDT late Friday evening/early Saturday morning (7/5).

Well I was scared because the cable company down here recently reconfigured all the high # channels to be digital only and Spike was one of them. But I found that Spike was moved to a lower channel so I can watch it WOO!

Yep, that was certainly entertaining to watch. I thought it had some good...and unfortunately some bad. It looks like the emphasis is on special moves this time around, which is good. But just in the few clips I saw on the show it looks like many of the basic physical attacks will be shared by multiple characters...and it got OLD just watching a 30 minute TV show. But gripes aside let's get to the specifics. Sonya had 3 classic moves I saw including the ring throw, rising bicycle kick, and leg grab. Shang Tsung has a teleport, a fireball, a soul suck, and an upwards fireball. What's more Tsung looks very modern this time around, mostly bare skinned with sweet pants and a vest sort of deal going on up top. His ponytail and beard are back in full force as well. Scorpion has everything you'd expect. He's got the spear, a flame teleport, that teleporting uppercut we got a glimpse of in the magazine scans, and what we thought was a scissor takedown seems to be a shared move that I mentioned above. Catwoman is very flexible in her attacks. She uses a lot of flips and grabs but she also has a spear-esque move that attacks the feet with her whip and drags you towards her. The flash is very speedy. He's got a 3 hit move that spins you in place with the final blow as well as what appears to be a variation of Taven's rush attack from MKA. He runs up and delivers a few lightning quick blows before knocking the opponent away. Sub-Zero was by far the most interesting. He's obviously got his freeze. But what's more intesting is he's got a teleporting sub-xerox which sounds EXACTLY like what one of our own members described in speculation in another thread. He also has his CLASSIC SLIDE. I've been waiting for that move to return for ages now. And he seems to have borrowed a page from Meat's playbook where he falls backwards into a puddle of ice and pops up behind the opponent. All in all I liked what I saw. But the incredibly stale basic attacks do worry me considerably...Klose kombat looked, if nothing else, brutal. And freefall kombat gave me a similar vibe. ----EDIT---- Moves I forgot. Shang Tsung has a Sektor-esque teleport uppercut, Batman has his Batarang, Superman has a ground pound, sucking breath, freeze breath, airborn throw attack, laser eyes, and at one point he smashed Tsung (i think) through a building.

Dont forget the confirmation of Scorpions beath of fire fatality is in the game. I just got done watching it and it was fun to see, and just got me more hyped for this game, which i really didnt like when i first heard about it.

Hell yes, I was definitely glad to hear that. I just hope they do something interesting with it for a change and it's not just the standard burn/scream/fall over dead. Let's see Scorpion do something else to his opponent while they're on fire. Overall I'd say I was actually reasonably impressed by what I saw. I'm still worried about how the fatalities are going to turn out, though. It brought elation to my tormented soul when they confirmed fatalities would be in the game not too long ago, but they've yet to change their stance on dismemberments, which only leads me to wonder just what in the hell they can really do with that limitation. I'm still waiting for them to say "screw it" and go for the M rating.

Shang Tsung looks awesome, definately the best look yet for him. I'm intrigued about the relatively unknown DC characters that Palmiotti mentioned. Still holding out for Lobo and Deadman

Agreed, even though I liked his look in MK1. Old, evil sorcerer who feeds off of souls of those whom he defeats. (his MK1 look was perfected in MK:SM)

What about the part when Palmiotti got asked if we could have more than 2 characters on the screen during a fight ? All he said was, "Yes, yes we do." I wonder if he was talking about the final battle, or a new team Vs. mode

And they said story mode is really flushed out, which is a great things to hear. I'm not surprised this is "universe altering" considering the premise. I kind of suspected a giant final battle. I'm on the ropes about Tsung's look. I'm a big fan of his MKDA look. But I can't say I dislike this outfit. It looks like his MK3 outfit, but updated of course.

I think there is gonna be some kind of "battle royal" kind of thing where you have more than 2 characters fighting at the same time. Also, that UE3 is making thi game LOOK real. Its amazing how good it looks. I cant wait until November

I watched it, and I thought it looked pretty good. Hopefully the next 10 characters they reveal are good ones! FATALITIES!!! Yes! haha.

Remember back in MKSM, where you had fights happening in the background, like Monks fighting Tarkatans and Blaze fighting Hornbuckle etc? Well I was thinking, what if the final battle was like this? After you end one fight, say you beat Shang Tsung as Liu Kang, the camera pans to the nearest fight and you carry on playing, maybe as Batman fighting the Joker. Like an endurance kind of thing. multiple fights uninterrupted by cutscenes or loading screens. A four-player mode wouldn't work for this game engine.

HOLD ON JUST ONE SECOND!!! He said that we aren't going to be beheading DC heroes, and a couple seconds later Boon reveals scorpion's fatality! That doesn't make sense!

And did he say Scorpion's TOASTY would decapitate or dismember anybody? Nope. TOASTY is the perfect example of a fatality that isn't over-the-top gore. Expect to see a lot like it I think.

How does it not make sense? A decapitation fatality and a burn your opponent to a crisp fatality are 2 different kind of things. One is very very brutal and the other is, well, funny.

True, I just thought that Scorpion's victim might explode like MKSM or his entire skin and meat would desintigrate.
