Yesterday we had the early reveal of the first images of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe by Polish gaming magazine NEO+, we all wanted a better look after having the blurry image. Well today our prayers were answered, as Midway has sent us a high quality render of the same picture today for our readers. Be prepared for the highest resolution look at the game yet!

There are also been two recent interviews with Ed Boon, for those of you looking to gather more information on the upcoming game. One interview is with Crispy Gamer while the other is with GameTap . On that note, we're still collecting fan questions for Ed for our upcoming interview with him, so be sure to respond in the comments below if this new image reveal sparks some new questions for the development team.

Check out more coverage of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, including an in-depth interview with Ed Boon and the full theatrical trailer available in 720p HD in our Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe GameRealm.

HOLY SHIT! It looks even better in Hi-Def! His mask is made out of a fecking RIBCAGE! Plus it has a scaly look about it. Man I thought I loved it before but this just tops all.

I got a question for Ed Boon. How would the story mode work. Can you explain?

DAMN! The Unreal 3 engine does some serious justice! Scorpion has never looked better!

I have a question for boon. In Mortal Kombat Armageddon the combo system was very simple to maneuver high hitting combos, as well as combining the force of the air combo system which also added a sense of brutality behind each punch and kick. Will you keep these 2 elements in MK vs DC?. Personally I enjoyed the set up for the combo system. It was very smooth compared to the previous releases and I enjoyed being able to hit characters 12 times and finish the combo in the air. I think it added a whole new experience, and it would be a-shame to see it taken away from this future release.

I can answer that question already MVP9119. NO. Boon has said multiple times that all semblence of the MKDA trilogy's fighting system is out the window. It's all about klose kombat and freefall kombat now. I do have a question for Mr. Boon however. It's simple, you should be able to get it in there. Will there be alternate costumes? For MK and DC characters?

Oh man, the level of detail really blew me away. Excuse me while I go find a tissue. Question for Boon: WILL LOBO BE IN IT? EDIT:

I thought it looked more like the back of a Scorpion. Like I said before, reminds me a lot of this;

Love his new look!! And also I got 2 questions: 1. Will there be a "spectator" mode in the online part? ..kinda like DOA's 2. Are we going to have multiple throws now?

Well Glamador if thats the case I guess they will no longer fight .. maybe just take a stroll through the beach or something. Its obviously a fighting concept that may carry on. Thats for the info tho

I have a question or two. 1. Is there a possibility of DC Vertigo characters making an appearence? 2. What are some ideas for the depth and look of level design?

I definitely think it looks more like a ribcage. I am going to continue to believe this because I don't like Scorpions. They freak me out. Hmm...yep, definitely a ribcage.

Great questions so far, added to the list. I'll be sending them in next week, so keep them coming!!

Although we know that multiple fighting styles won't be returning, will each fighter haver their own distinctive style of fighting. Or is the fighting mechanic similar to the 2-d mk's in the sense that everyone shared the same basic moves. Furthermore, will each fighter have thier own unique style of fighting during freefall and klose kombat? How many alternate costumes can we expect this time around? What is "RAGE"? You posted a few hints regarding that word on your site. We all know that Scorpion is your favorite mk character. However, who's your favorite dc character?

Here's another question. Are there limited Edition Collector's sets this time around?
May 10th, 2008 12:35 AM CST - kingjolly
Can we expect fmv's for each of the characters this time around, instead of still pics? How is DC comics promoting this game? Is there a comic book adapatation in the works?

Another good question is if they're planning to give us a playable demo on the 360 and the ps3.
May 10th, 2008 3:15 PM CST - kingjolly
BTW, is the render even in-game?
May 12th, 2008 2:05 PM CST - highwaytothelost
I hope this game isn't near finished. Those are not up to par with the other fighters around.

I think this Scorpion looks as detailed and HD as any of the Soul Calibur or Tekken characters I've seen. And he looks WAY better than the SFIV characters so far...god the art direction sucks in that game.
May 13th, 2008 11:01 AM CST - highwaytothelost
Well SF is cell-shaded. And SC isn't even done yet but from what i have seen they look amazing. MK is the god of all fighting games they should have the best graphics and gameplay, but lately none of that has been happening. And yet i still go out and buy the games....

I sure hope so. I would hate to hear that the demo will only be available at E3. Now to my question : Are you planning on doing something like this in the future? If so, then who might it be with?

I'm just curious, have you sent to midway the questions yet?
