Word from Major Nelson has it that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 has made it onto the Xbox Live Arcade! For a cost of 800 Microsoft Points ($10), you can fight through the entire single player arcade game and a all new online multiplayer mode! The multiplayer modes include a new Challenger Versus Mode which allows you and 3 other friends to battle it out in a "winner-stays-on" style tournament. A total of 12 achievements for up to 200 Gamerscore points are available.

For moves lists check out our classic arcade moves list for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Check back soon as we will have a new layout for our classc moves lists.

Thanks, Mortail Wombat.

Update 10:30 AM CST - Patrick McCarron
It appears some people had problems finding the game on Xbox Live, Major Nelson said he's escalated the problem. The game now appears for me under the New Releases for Live Arcade category, and is also at the bottom of the Coin-Op Classics category. I had issues downloading them a few minutes ago, but all is okay now. Go get it!

Update 11:00 AM CST - Patrick McCarron
I am having issues with the game and Xbox Live, I get disconnected as soon as I start the game. So I can't play online at all. I sent this on to Major Nelson so hopefully we can get that issue fixed for everyone too.

Update 12:00 PM CST - Patrick McCarron
As far as the UKK entering for unlocking the three special characters, they appeared to have accidentally changed what buttons enter what box. The developers have swapped the HP and HK buttons for some reason. Here's the rundown:

Box 1 - HK
Box 2 - LP
Box 3 - BL
Box 4 - LK
Box 5 - HP

Update 2:00 PM CST - Patrick McCarron
The online play is working now, thanks Microsoft for fixing that!

For some reason it's not currently listed under the "new games" but there is an image ad on the first page that randomly appears. I selected it but it just gives me a more info button, now way to purchase it.

As far as the UKK for unlocking the other characters, they appeared to have remapped what button turns what icon. I'm working on figuring it out so I can post a key here for everyone. It appears they have swapped the HP and HK buttons for the UKK code input. Silly programmers. 1 - HK 2 - LP 3 - BL 4 - LK 5 - HP

I thought the game was removed cause they accidentally released it earlier than intended. I don't suppose there's a way to get that running on an old xbox? Haven't played that in years, and would love to, even with no online component.

Like this?

Yeah similar to that, but on the first page. They really are pushing the game, glad to see that, the images are everywhere. That has to be the largest yet.

Hey, I'm new, I just registered to ask something. If I only have one 360 controller.. am I screwed? (about unlocking ermac, mileena, classic sub-zero) Thanks.

From what I can tell, yes. Unless they put a code in to do, even with two it's hard. You really need two people AND two controllers.

I'm really glad this is out but I won't be able to play the full version for a couple more weeks. The Achievements are verrrrry simple to get! None of them are hard at all for me. The only one that will take a while is win 100 online matches, it won't take more than a week or so tops.

Finally, a real MK game. Lol. I envy anyone who gets to play this online. Looks to be great fun.

Uhm, ok, that sucks. Another question: how do you fight noob saibot? I forgot, its been a while. Im only missing that achievement and the 100 wins. Thanks.

I really hate how every online game is played only on Scorpion's Lair. Didn't the developers notice that every game is on one stage? Is there anywhere to officially complain about this?
October 22nd, 2006 1:05 AM CST - panel0n
I fought a guy who had the 3 secret characters unlocked and the stage we fought was the pit with the blue portal behind. weird.

I can do it by myself, I just push the corresponging buttons for both players at the same time. So that wouldn't really help you since you have one. I guess you could do Player 1's side, then unplug the controller and put it in controller port 2 then do player 2's side

You have to put in the kombat kode at the versus screen. Sorry, guess your screwed again. 769-342

Thanks for the info man, but trying to disconnect and connect the controller would not only be really hard, given the time you have, but its quite literally impossible with the 360 controller system. No biggie, Im gonna invite a friend over to get them. And no, he wasn't human smoke, but it doesnt make any difference. I played online some more and the formula is this: If the host of the match doesnt have the 3 characters unlocked you'll fight in scorpion's lair. If he does have the characters unlocked you'll fight in the blue portal pit. Thanks again EDIT-- OK one last question I swear, were animalities and mercies removed? I havent been able to pull a mercy off, so obviously neither an animality. Thanks!

Dang, I read the post about the levels repeating and I forgot to explain. In the arcades, the first level you play is always Scorpions lair. That's why every time you play someone new, you will start back there. That means during quarter play (2 players, 2 observers), you will ALWAYS either be in Scorpions lair or The cave (via uppercut). After you unlock all three hiddens, the next level you play in is the blue portal. The same glitch would occur for every time you fight the people who have unlocked the hiddens. I would have heard by now if mercies were taken out. Just make sure you are full screen or close to it, and don't hit down too fast.

Mercy's are in the game. Has to be done during round Three - Hold Run (Left trigger) tap down four times and release. It has to be done from the far side of the screen from the other player. You can fight Noob pretty easily if you have two controllers - do the eight player tournament (If you don't have two controllers then you can when you beat the game on any tier). When you get to Shao Kahn's treasures pick the 3 icon, its the fourth icon from the left. I don't think you can get the Noob Achievement using VS screen code since its a single round fight. I'm not sure since the time I did it I was in a private match which blocks the achievements.

Does anybody notice how hard it is? I can't even pull two moves off, I just plain get owned by the computer...
October 24th, 2006 12:14 AM CST - panel0n
D'oh! its down 4 times? I kept only doing 2. Thanks for clarifying that. And yeah, I had a friend over, unlocked the characters and did the versus code to fight n00b saibot, kicked his ass, and nope, no achievement. I thought, maybe for some reason I have to finish the game (after beating n00b), so I did and on a completely random move I chose that 3 icon, so I got to fight n00b saibot again, and figured ah ok, this is how you get the achievement. But of course, you know the AI in MK games.. sometimes its easy, and sometimes its completely ridiculous. I got butt raped. I have to go through the arcade mode again to fight him (which takes me like 20 credits (damn endurance :@)) and most likely get destroyed again. But now I know stuff

Just do 8-player tournament. You can do a mercy in 3 runs by the way.

Don't fight the computer like you would an actual player, you need to learn their "logic" For instance the first few matches you can always hit people with stun moves (cyrax's Net, Zero's ice, Scorpion's Spear, etc). If the AI isnt moving and you run towards them and they still don't move you can usually get a combo in. If they start to move away from you when you run in they'll usually get a cobom off on you. Kitana/Mileena/Jade can be hard to uppercut if you get a stun move in the air and you can't do the jumping HP to start a combo on them either. What I do is use Cyrax and use his net, once I get to the point where the AI starts blocking or countering it I turtle up by holding block and standing there tapping away and just letting the net got. They'll usually get stuck in it about 1/4 of the time. It takes longer and sucks this way but it works. Beating Motaro with cyrax is kind of easy too, just jump away and if he jumps jump kick him. When he falls run and do the 6-hit combo (he'll usually block but you sometimes get all of it or part of it), jump away and repeat Beating Kahn is kind of iffy, you have to get lucky and hope you get a net on him without him returning any hits (fireball usually) What you do is just keep launching the nets, he'll usually hit you with his fireballs but as long as you get at least one clean net on him you'll outlast him by doing Cyrax's 7-hit (jump in hitting a HP in air then the standard 6-hit combo).
