Unbelievable game tonight! ALCS is tied 3/3. The BoSox just might pull this off. I'm afraid that it's going to be a Sox Vs. Astros WS, and I just know the Sox would win that.

Don't know what I'd do if the Sox won. Holy shit. I certainly hope so :)

It looks promising!
Beware the curse!

Right? I think WAS is the only one who understands here. This sort of shit always happens. I never expected the Yanks to sweep, nor did I expect them to win in five. Six at the least. Now it's down to game seven (as usual). The Red Sox pitching is worn out, they have no bullpen to speak of, Ortiz is carrying the team (except last night, I'll give them that, that was Schilling's night), and the game's at Yankee Stadium. Jumping fuckin' Jesus how bad can your luck get?

The NLCS is heating up now too, but I'm still saying St. Louis in the end, they're down but they're not out.

And are there any Yankee fans here who also want to beat the living shit out of the umpires from last night's game? What a load of crap. I wouldn't be surprised if most of those guys got jumped. First, two bullshit calls (the homerun was fine, but A-Rod's call was bull, and so was the one-out double play shortly afterward), then the police on the sides . . . fuckin' umpires.

Now, bear with me while I explain why the call on A-Rod was bullshit. First, he was running down the line. Arroyo was in the way. INTERFERENCE ON ARROYO. But no, that's okay, A-Rod is forced to miss the base, in the process of trying to run around Arroyo knocking the ball out of his hand. I mean, shit, HE MISSED THE BASE! How is that not interference? Not only that, but he wasn't even looking in the direction Arroyo's hand was, he didn't see the ball, it was an accident committed while he tried to avoid crashing into him. I fuckin' Tivo'd that game and watched that part over and over and over again, and I'm tellin' ya it was unintentional.

GO YANKEES!

No, A-Rod is the fucking cheater; you don't put your hand up to knock the ball out of someone's glove, least of all at first base. If he wanted an interference call, then he runs straight for that base and allows himself to get moved naturally. The umpires would have made the right call.
Oh, and the Yankee fan call, with the homerun? Mind explaining that one?

Also, you talk about Yankee pitching being less worn out than the Sox's, yet you forget that the Sox saved Lowe and Wakefield for a Game 7 situation, and all the Yankees have to rely on until Rivera can come in is Kevin Brown. Uh, yea, good luck with him, seeing how he pitched in his last game.

Need I remind you Derek Lowe's last game? I didn't think so.

Dude, I said the homerun call was fine. That was a homerun. Okay. Fine.

Did you see the replay of A-Rod's shit? He was trying to move AROUND Arroyo, he wasn't even looking at Arroyo, he didn't intentionally stick his hand up, except to keep his balance. And even if he did, and take that as absolutely no admission of his guilt from me, what the fuck happened to a little bit of cheating in a good game? No, the umpires confer now. Ladi-fuckin' da.

And on that note, I gotta bounce. Talk to ya later, or else tomorrow.

Common RF. Even as a Yankee fan you have to admit A-Rod pulled a cheap move there. He not only slapped Arroyo's hand - but he slapped it hard. He might as well have punched the kid in the ribs. This type of play is what makes A-Rod, well, A-Rod. I liked the play and laughed my ass off but they umpires made the right call. I was watching the game with 5 other people, Yankee and Red Sox fans, and everyone agreed the call was made right. Had Arroyo placed his whole body on the 1st base line, then you can justify it. Arroyo fielded a badly hit ball. A-Rod tried to beat it out, although it was impossible - even for Ichiro. The only thing Arroyo put in A-Rod's way was his glove/arm which A-Rod tried ripping off. The call was pretty easy and the only reason it wasn't made was because Bellhorn clearly had to backoff giving the 1st base umpire a terrible line of sight.

As for pitching though, I will agree with RF. Boston has to rely on Tim Wakefield, whos been used a great deal lately, and Derek Lowe. Derek Lowe had a good game the other night, yes. However. His statistics for pitching on the road pale in comparison to his home pitching stats. He just doesn't seem like the same pitcher when he isn't at Fenway Park. You can't argue this - his stats tell the story.

The Yankees don't just have Kevin Brown. They have Javier Vasquez. So the really have two starters and will play it out the same way they did in game 3. Kevin Brown will start and unless he is having a spectacular game, which chances are he won't, then Vasquez will come in to relief him. After that you have Gordon (if thats a good thing) and Rivera who got the night off.

No matter who pitches the Yankees have to hit the ball. 2 runs isn't cutting it. Jeter, A-Rod, Sheff, and Matsui all looked like mini-volcanoes (Well, not Jeter) the first 3 games. They blasted everything everywhere. These last 3 games? Besides Jeter who has hit two times now in clutch spots to give the Yankees some runs, the other 3 look like they have become Dormant. Cairo and Bernie seem to be the only reliable hitters. It still shakes me up when Tony Clark is at the plate. I pretty much considered the game over when he came up last night. The guy just can't hit. Losing Olerud was BIG. Olerud was a good hitter who was very over looked. Clark is a walking strike out who can't even get contact with the ball, let alone a hit.

It's gonna be a great game. If I bet I would put my money on the Yankees and I still have confidence they will win this game - more so than I did in game 6. But what do I know? I'm just a fan just like everyone else.

How will the Red Sox choke this one away, I do not know. Walk off homer, done. Rolling turtle-like grounder through the legs, done. My bet is on bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth.

Grand slam in the second? Choke'd.

I will be the first to tip my hat to the Boston Red Sox. Pretty amazing what they accomplished over the past week. They go down 0-3 to the fully loaded New York Yankees by a demoralizing 19-8 score. No one really believed they could win. Not really. But they pulled through. They went through two extremely long record setting games - one lasting 12 innings and the other 14 - and they pulled through with last minute heroics. They go back to Yankee stadium and manage to tie the game up via a determined effort of Kurt Shilling. And finally, win game 7 at Yankee Stadium by a large margin.

I am not happy. Not in the least. But I will say it was the best overall series I have ever seen play. In any sport. Frusterating - but very exciting and fun to watch.

Like I said. Hats off to the Red Sox for accomplishing the near-impossible. Of course the season isn't over yet. Even with this amazing win, they need to focus on two dangerous teams both capable of pounding the ball harder than these guys and both with a very good pitching staff.

Now I have to go watch the depressing NBA season until next Spring.

The Sox I'm almost positive can beat the Astros in 5 games. They're going to have trouble beating the Cards if they win the NLCS.
