Will you play with or without HUD?

Playing with or without HUD?

Just wondering. Since we know that you can turn off the HUD, do you prefer fighting with or without it? I will probably play without. I need no Health bars or Damage indicator, i think it distracts too much from the actual gameplay. Only thing i need is the X-Ray meter, i hope it´s possible to turn it on without the other stuff. What about you guys?

I'd never have it off. I'm an offensive-style player and my defense is bad, I definitely need the health bars.

EDIT: Plus, MK is going to be really heavy on offense...so I'm really gonna need to know where I'm standing at all times in this game.

I'll probably play with it on most of the time, but it does look rather cool and cinematic when its off, maybe I'll turn it off if I want to record some videos or something or just look like more of a badass :P

ewww i didn't know you could turn it off. i play with it, i need to know if im about to die or not. and the supermeter is a must see.

It's a must have for me; there's a certain adrenaline rush that comes with KNOWING your about to lose, and that doubles when your opponent is near defeat too.

I`ll turn it off when playing against my roommates and friends so I can show-off some cool moves without having to worry about losing.
Online I will always have it on but I will do what I did with SF4 (if I can) - I will push the HUD towards the edges of the screen so I can have a bigger open mid-screen.

If there's an option to turn off the HUD, I'll definitely try it out. It's not a practical way to play the game, but it's exciting as a novelty. It has a nice cinematic feel to it too, so I'm keen on having some fun without it.

There's no way in hell I'd play without it. Maybe once just for the sake of checking it out, but that'd be the extent of it.

i'm pretty sure most of us will play online, and it would be safe to just leave it on for that purpose. But for the purpose of playing offline, against a friend, or cpu then i would sometimes leave it off for theatrical purposes. Do you guys agree?

im gunna play without it, sure you cant see where your energy bar is but hey just keep kickin ass till its over and it says, 'Finish him'

but i will add it would be awesome if theres was a setting where you could hit a button like select or a shoulder button to make the HUD quickly flash on so you can see where your energy is at for a brief second, then return back to the cinematic playing :)
also maybe a setting for the transparency of the HUD so its not too offputting if it suddenly appears

one question though, when you play online do both players have to have the same HUD settings for it to work?
for example if mine is on can i only play people who also have theirs on, and if mine is off can i only play people who also has it off?

and yeah,, this game looks sooo good without HUD, its worth it just for the cinematic experience!

In that case if you have it off you won't be able to see anything obviously. But if he had it on he'll be able to see yours and his. Just a guess but a logical one.

Genuinely curious here. Do you feel it distracts you because only now you have the option to turn it off, or have you always felt this way about beat em up's?
