Why so many spoilers?

I still want to play it. Never wanted to play it for the prize anyways - was always in it for the 300 missions of awesome.

problem NOT solved, the other day i went to the Gameinformer website, just looking through and they showed the leaked character list, no spoiler alert or anything, just sitting on the front page, it was inevitable. i wasn't even looking for MK related news, and its not only forums i tend to go to the MK youtube channel, and behold

its not the fourms fault, its the fault of ignorant people who leak stuff/spread it around. its like if i got an early copy of Harry Potter *which i do not like for reference* and i was reading it out loud to everyone in line to get their copy. is it the books stores fault? no, its the person leaking and releasing. its cool if you want to know they story before others, just dont spoil it for them is all he is saying

Just wish some people actually cared about others who actually want to be surprised when they first play the game. Shame really...
 
my memory is so bad even though I saw some of the spoilers it will be all brand new to me again. But I think it is terrible to ruin it for others, as a fan you still have a choice, you don't have to look at something you're not ready to see.
 
this is why i wish some stores didnt sell the game early, good thing im strong enough to look just for certain information that wont ruin the game for me, but its true ppl need to learn how to put spoiler stuff in the spoiler section how hard is that? i was so eager to watch sheeva's famous fatality but im glad i didnt 90% of the fatalities is going to be new to me. i just cant believe how many ppl spoiled the whole game for themselves, maybe a little peek but the whole game wow. theres even matches going on in king of the hill lmfao.
 
I'm actually glad you posted this DCP. It really is ****ing annoying how badly MK is spoiled on this forum and on every other MK related forum. I never participate in any MK forum other than TRMK, and this is the first time I've actually participated in ANY forum in about 6 years, mainly because i hate the rampant childish ******** that comes with the internet. Plus, I haven't been this excited over MK since MK3 came out. But yeah, you make a good point.

In terms of spoilers, MK fans are the worst. I've followed many games that I love online, but the amount of spoilers that just get shot around on MK related forums is retarded. I can't quite place what it is about MK that turns all these people into spoiler-posting morons, but its like a disease that plagues 90% of the people around here. Again, i've participated in the past on forums that revolve around games, and have never seen spoilers thrown around the way I see them thrown around in the MK community. It's actually part of the reason why I loathe the greater majority of MK players...I love this franchise to death but the fan base is embarassing. I blame it mostly on typical internet tough guy childish behavior, but the things I see on MK forums...it really contributes to the stereotype that's plagued MK for the past 15 years. But I'm not singling out fellow MK players...Street Fighter and Tekken Elitists are a whole different breed of dbag.

But yes, spoilers are rampant, but its a risk we take in trying to participate in the MK community. When the game gets closer to release and more info is revealed, we continue coming here at our own risk. That's not to say we're guilty of it simply because we want to come here. The people that blatantly spoil things about the game in thread topics ruin it for everyone. And frankly, I am sick of seeing people with fatalities as their sigs. I think those morons in particular should be banned for a week or simply have their sig wiped. Some people here consider seeing fatalities before release a spoiler. I don't care if you think it's cool...you're ruining an aspect of the game for someone else.

And yet, isn't it interesting that the very same people who ***** and moan about spoilers are the same ones who also post them and actively seek them out? Yes, the very same. Again, it's the conundrum of the MK community...people who ***** and moan about spoilers, yet post them at the first opportunity and actively seek them out.

And frankly, NRS isn't helping matters by spoiling stuff. A friend of mine told me today that Boon was tweeting fatalities all day...why would you ruin an aspect of the game that you're so proud of? Again, not everyone considers fatalities as spoilers, but I do, and many other people do. But the MK team has ALWAYS leaked way too much info. This is the Internet generation. They really started in 2002 by overloading us with Deadly Alliance. The whole game was spoiled and it was still 5 months from release.

But I digress.

I've kept myself on MK blackout since mid-March, when this forum became a spoiler cesspool (though I do applaud the mods for taking huge steps in eliminating spoilers as much as possible and confining them to one forum), but that hasn't stopped other crap from popping up on facebook, twitter, etc. So, when the community isn't spoiling it for everyone else, NRS is. It's just been the one thing about MK for the past decade that's been it's major downfall.

It's 2 DAYS AWAY PEOPLE. Just friggin' wait and learn some patience.

I feel you man, I was avoiding all spoilers, but this guy on facebook sent me a link and I clicked on it and it was the full roster, It was cool seeing everyone, but I wanted to be surprised in the game. But I have been able to avoid Fatalities, X-rays, Cut scenes, the krypt unlocks, challenge tower, alt costumes. People have spoilers in their sig and avatar which I think shouldn't be allowed because I've seen thing I didn't want too. and I learned about a certain type of finishing move thanks the side links on youtube when I was watching some reptile gameplay. D A M N you youtube >:[

One of the main reason why people on the Internet are doing spoilers, is simply because they want to be "A #1". The one who showed you first? But in reality you're NOT! You're really a lost cause to your own selfish "look at me, me, me, look at what I did!" factor or reason, because 100's of others are doing the exact same thing. You all can't possibly be "A #1" now can you.
It really just comes down to this....most people don't really care about others feelings or concerns on something that they are really passionate about, especially over the broken Internet when it has to do with "spoiling" it for everyone else who doesn't want to be. My 11 year old son came up to me and said, "dad, why are you on YouTube all the time looking for new MK9 stuff, don't you want to be surprised by the game when your actually playing it for yourself?" Well, a lot of us could take some serious lessions from the mind of a child, because most of the time they just simply tell it like it is.

What annoys me the most are all the newbies here who talk spoilers in the wrong section. Just read the different kinds of sub-forums and use common sense.
 
i was on youtube and some ******* posted the entire story mode. i didn't watch it because that is one of the things i am looking forward to. jesus christ some jack asses are hell bent on ruining it for everyone!!! i mean come on. and how the hell did you get the game anyway?? what ever. i get mine tomorrow night can't wai, well technically it's still tuesday but what ever. this game seems well worth the wait and i for one don't want all of the cool extra stuff revealed before i get to play the damn thing. people only post this shit because they are looking for approval and or a pat on the back. self serving, ego maniacal ass clowns
 
well one thing is for sure, im going back to MortalKombatOnline for my mk fix, i just normally read the front page for the newest mk updates that wont mean im leaving this site, its just i dont want some kid spoiling it for me by posting in the wrong thread or saying something in his post that would be a spoiler, MKonline seems to be a good site for OFFICIAL mk updates, videos and character reveals so your not spoiled on anything major

As for me, I only "spoiled" movesets, because that's what I want to know; do I even want to bother with unlocking CSZ if his moves suck?

I personally, am getting this game as a fighting game, not for story or anything. I respect the fact that you guys don't want to, so I won't post anymore spoilers (hey, CSZ was in this topic a good three times before me.)


I can feel for you guys who don't want to know, that's why I never refered to any character in myu topics.

People like to talk about spoilers and I don't see a problem with that. We have a spoiler section for a reason....and if people don't want to be spoiled, don't look there.

IMO, though, I think it should be a section that requires a password so anyone who wants to access it would have to put in the password but it would otherwise be shown as 'private' so you wouldn't see the titles of threads, which many of them give away spoilers in themselves.

Kinda late for that now, considering we are only a few days away from release. Either way, the mods and admins have no choice but to see all the spoilers because we have to read the threads and make sure people are following rules. I personally don't care because spoilers don't bother me one bit and I will still be excited to play the game, regardless, but, for some reason, people get really up in arms about finding out about things. Knowing the spoilers I know about the game makes me want to play it even more.

Also, people like to ignore us when we repeatedly say NO SPOILERS IN CHAT or when we have a SPOILER SECTION yet they post in the regular MK9 forum. Even though spoilers don't phase me, I still care about the people who don't want to see it so I do my best to delete and move any spoilers that are in the wrong areas but people still want to be ignorant and think it's funny to spoil it for people, JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD WHO POSTED A SPOILER CHARACTER.

Come on, guys, if the character has not been officially revealed, THEY ARE STILL A SPOILER.
