Why don't you think any girls can compete high level in fighting games?

Have you ever watched the Olympics? There are guys just as good at gymnastics as the girls, some are even better....and there are chicks in basketball taller and better at dunking than some of the men in the NBA.

Come on, now.....women's sports of course don't get as much attention (I personally prefer men's leagues myself and find female leagues boring) but that doesn't mean there aren't women who are better than men...some of those basketball chicks can easily dance around the boys....

:| No, you missed what I was saying. Of course there are good guy gymnasts, but no one cares about them. The focus is always on the girls. In an area where guys/girls can perform the same physically, the girls will get the more attention. "and there are chicks in basketball taller and better at dunking than some of the men in the NBA" uh no. There are no girls in basketball who are better dunking/playing than men lol. Take the worst team in the NBA, and the beast team in the WNBA, and I'm sure the WNBA team would get bodied. Yeah of course a WNBA player can beat joe shmo from around the corner, but not high level male competition.

And the reason you like guy sports is the reason everyone prefers them over the ladies, because their physical abilities are more spectacular. But we're mixing things up here. I didn't bring this up to debate male leagues vs female leagues, but why there aren't any popular girls who can hang with the best male players in fighting games, an area in which there are no physical advantages to separate the genders.
 
I would bet there's more girl gamers online than you think, most don't self identify since any female on the internet gets deluged with "HAY LET ME SEE YOR BEWBZ" kind of stuff the moment their gender is made known. Not to stereotype, but most of the gamers who are all butterflies, unicorns, and glitter usually aren't that good because it's more about garnering attention to them.

Two of my favorite things to talk about on the internet are video games and pro wrestling, and I've seen it many (many) times. There's people I've known for years online that I only recently found out were female because they didn't want to be known as the "token chick" or treated differently due to the inward or outward status of their no no parts.

I totally agree with you on that statement, as soon as most of the gaming community latches on to the fact that its a female its like bees around honey. Some pathetic stuff i see from some people. If i was of the oppositte other sex i would prolly take the piss with it o be fair. I bet alot have a hoot at the expense of some of the male gaming community
 
From my experience as a girl gamer, I've met some pretty great guys who treat me like and equal and then even more guys who treat me like an object. It's hilarious. Once most guys know you're a girl, they either try to get with you (even when they don't know what you look like) or they bombard you with tired misogynistic phrases.

I hate the other end as well. The guys and girls that have turned the term "gamer girl" into crap. Girls that lie about being a gamer and guys that use the term for these girls because they are attractive and holding a controller in a picture.

Girls have it rough competitively. I feel they are under much more pressure and harassment.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Not only that, they probably hide their sex online because they'll get a sh;itload of friend requests.
 
Well, there are plenty of girls who dominate in Dead Or Alive 4. Even though it's not up to par with the latest fighting games, there are a few females that I could name that play it professionally and/or compete in tournaments.

Vanessa Optx being the most popular.
 
Two reasons come to mind, I don't think many women pursue the tournament scene, and that all the women who are good at the game are overlooked because of their gender, tis' sad but true. Now go make me a sammich.
