I agree on that, too me it's the fact he looks basically exactly the same as he did in 3 which is what I'm happy about.

I just dont get it hahah, 4 years, ago even 2, every one loathed stryker, now with the new game every one is jumping on some stupid fan boy ban wagon...Professing their love for mks greatest fail....
I mean what is it? why does he HAVE to be in this game? Yous do know its a retelling, he could of been retold out...
and if he had to be in, which he is, he hasnt even been done well, he looks EXACTLY like he did in mk3, accept hes not fat, yet he looks like chris redfield....and now he has night sticks and guns....its obvious he will be a spamming cheap piece of shit
the only argument every presented by pro strykers is, "he was in mk3, he deserves it" , "he has potential", "he is so out of place he fits in" hahahahahah
yet no ant stryker points are ever considered , every one ignores them....Seriously where did the stryker love come from?

I remember back in the 90's Stryker was my least-favorite character. I didn't hate him, I just didn't ever use him. Then UMK3 came out and Stryker got his gun and I was like "OH SNAP!" Then recently I started watching UMK3 combo videos and I saw how badass his combos are. Now I'm kinda pumped to see how he turns out in MK9 
PS: Keep in mind I completely skipped the 3D era of MK so my opinion hasn't been tarnished by those games.

There may not have been a design overhaul, but simply "streamlining" it has done him a lot of good. He doesn't look like a fat guido who is a cop for a paycheck. He looks like a cop, and that's all we really asked for.

Dude, you like Kabal, Sektor and Cyrax, someone else likes to use Smoke, Stryker or Jade. Why can't you just accept that not everybody has the same preference/opinion as you do.

I played the heck out of Stryker when MK3 came out, if only because I bought into the modern weapons gimmick at the time. Over the years, I grew indifferent as the appeal started to wear off. Honestly, there are characters that I think are worse than Stryker, but I'll leave that for another time. At the end of the day, Stryker or any other character is a work of fiction, thus there is room for flexibility. Conservative or close-minded fans notwithstanding, the MK team can tweak or overhaul a character to make him more appealing. Character design doesn't happen by magic. It's a process that take time and thought. Some designs never make it past the drawing board. The ones that do happen to make it may look quite different from the original design and even change again with each sequel. Look, nobody will force you to use him. There'll be at least other 25 characters you can choose, that's how democracy works

Some stupid bandwagon? You do realize the majority of the people who hated Stryker, were just part of a hate bandwagon...right? So now that the "bandwagon" is on the other side, it's all of a sudden "stupid"? Most people just hated him because it was cool to hate the guy. This was before such gems as Mokap, Hsu Hao, Dariou, Darrius, Kobra, Kira, Taven, and Daegon came around...Ever since then, people have realized it gets MUCH worse than Stryker. Most people got over it, realized they were being immature, and moved on with their lives...
Nobody HAS to be in the game, but it makes sense for him to be, given that it's from MK1-MK3, which he was a part of. Sure he could have been retold out, but they chose to try and make him better instead, nothing wrong with trying to redo a character that already has a fanbase, than to scrap him altogether and act as if he never existed. He looks EXACTLY like he does in MK3, yet somehow manages to look like Chris Redfield as well? Not sure how that works out, but given that we've seen a total of 1 quality screen of him, from a side point of view, it's a bit early to be passing judgement on his design.
He always had a knightstick and firearm...not sure how that makes him more likely to be a "spamming cheap piece of shit" than any other character, but I find it interesting you can tell so much from 1 picture, and zero gameplay footage of the guy.
Well, I have read your complaints, your anti-Stryker rants, and I can't say you present any sort of logical or rational argument. You are just bashing the guy on shallow biased opinion based claims, yet you treat them like they are fact. Maybe if you seemed like you knew what you were talking about, or had a decent argument, people would listen to you. However, there's always going to be narrow minded people who are rarely happy and just love to be negative and hate on things constantly, and people have every reason to think you are one of them. Nothing anyone will say, will make you even consider Stryker as an ok character, because you're so irrational about your feelings.
