I never said nor implied that it wasn't the top selling game, on the contrary.
In another thread on TRMK I've stated how MKX was the top selling game of 2015, despite half of the Trilogy roster missing.
So, you can take that strawman argument elsewhere.

It doesn't change the fact that their marketing was complete ass for 4 months.
October 2014 thru January of 2015 was 4 months of absolutely no information, and various people on here were also losing hype and getting annoyed that nothing was being shown.
Doesn't mean hype can't be gained again when new info is out, but just that it's relatively low, considering the hype machine that SFV has been as of lately.

The Last Guardian also went down that hole.
After the 2nd E3 that it showed up to with no release date or playable demo it felt like it was in a development hell that it was never going to get out of.
When it FINALLY showed up at this E3 with a playable demo and 2016 time frame, now it looks like something to look forward to.
 
Im kinda interested in Kp2 would help if we had some info on it for me to get hype. To be honest tho seeing as Kp2 will most likely release around the same time as Sf5 i dont think il be playing mkx for awhile
 
im interested in kp2 just because I don't when the next mk will come out so it will freshen it up for me.
 
If there are costumes in KP2 for old MK characters, then I hope that it's just an MK4 costume for Shinnok and Tanya and that the rest are costumes for the new MKX characters.
The Original 7, MKII playable cast, and Ermac all have "Klassic" costumes in 1 form or another.

Skin for Tanya? DLC for DLC? That would be moneygrab beyond any acceptance.

I almost completely lost hype for KP2, the only thing that matters to me is if they improve netcode along with releasing kp2.

NOT ONCE did I ever say anything about paid DLC costumes.
Just because I mentioned that the Trilogy characters all have costumes does not mean that all of them were paid for.
Last I recall, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, and Ermac all got free "Klassic" costumes, and last I recall Raiden and Johnny Cage's "Tournament" (aka Klassic costumes) were unlocked by beating their arcade tower.
How would it be a money grab if it's a free skin like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile and Ermac's skins were?
A moneygrab from something that comes free with patch updates?
That's news to me.

If there are new skins to classic characters (MK1-MK4), i hope they do a Deadly Alliance/Deception skin pack.

Deadly Alliance (default costumes: Kitana, Raiden / alternate: Sonya)
Deception (default costumes: Ermac, Mileena, Sub-Zero / alternate: Tanya)
 
Well, Sub-Zero DID have the best secondary costume in Deadly Alliance. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing it again:

I would like any of these 4 costumes for Sub-Zero in KP2.

1. Deception
2. Deadly Alliance primary or alt
3. MK3 unmasked
I want more unmasked costumes for Sub-Zero in MK11. 1 isn't enough.

Commander - I don`t care that much what you did or didn`t have in mind, so no, I won`t ask you. I`m 100% sure that we won`t get free skins for Tanya and Shinnok, maybe with KP2, but they will be paid.

We got ninja klassic skins for free, because that was ONE design, recolored for 4 characters. If you follow that pattern, you can get to easy conclusion that IF we get anything for free, it would be at best UMK3 female ninja costumes, recolored same way.

Tanya and Shinnok MK4 costumes would be more complex in design, so they won`t be free for sure.


Let`s not forget that top priority for devs should be keep game alive by fixing awful netcode. No new characters or fancy costumes will help, when important gameplay aspects are neglected.

But devs won`t care. Swarms of casuals flood his Twitter for more DLC instead fixing what`s important.

Also, i'd love to get Mileena and Kitana from Deception. Twin sister pack. That was the best Mileena design ever, and it was cool they did the same outfit for Kitana on Ermac and Sindel endings.

Tanya's Klassic skin can easily be done similarly to MKII Mileena and Kitana in MKX, minus the mask and a few modifications, so yeah a free skin for her sure as hell isn't out of the question.
It's just recoloring that "Klassic" skin, modifying it a little and making it available.
Simple.
You also like to ignore the fact that we got free Raiden (MK1 / Tournament) and Johnny Cage (MKII / Tournament) Klassic skins included with the game, but fine.
Ignore that fact if it makes you feel better.

Recoloring Kitana and Mileena's MKX Klassic skin for Tanya and making some modifications sure sure as hell isn't complex.
Complex is Reptile's MK4 costume, which is more than just a "recolor."
Reptile's classic skin (on top of being recolored) was also made to match his MKX model with his green scales on his arms and torso and the mask being an open mouthed mask.
Yet, with all those modifications that they had to make to Reptile's Klassic skin, it was more than just a generic UMK3 ninja skin (more like his MK4 model), and it was also free.
So that bullshit complex Klassic costume logic goes out the window for Tanya.
Tanya's MK4 costume modification would be modifying the MKII Mileena / Kitana costume and just recoloring and making some small adjustments, minus the mask.

You're correct on that.
NRS didn't give 2 turds to fix the MK9 netcode until Gamespy was being shut down and they had no other choice, and it doesn't look like they care to fix it for MKX.

DLC characters will likely never get alt costumes as it would be a waste of time and money for NRS. It's not in their best interest to release a free skin because the people who haven't purchased the character would be outraged. They would argue it should have been for a character everyone has access to freely (and rightfully so). And it's a bad idea to make DLC skins an additional purchase because not everyone may have that character , therefore NRS would potentially lose money. All of this is my opinion of course.
