Which Characters are Waste of Slots?

Could they add more characters? Of course! nobody is a wasted slot imo the guess characters are cool ,but they take the chance of more mk characters being in the game.

Kano, Jax, Kung Jin, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Johnny, Sonya(Pains me to say it), Reptile, and Ermac.
I feel that people like Ermac and Reptile will continue to contribute nothing to the story, but only keep repeating onto the main roster since they are fan favorites.

To be honest, I'm surprised you're even interested in this game.
That's almost the entire damn roster. Lmao

I'm SO glad I'll be able to hop into this game and enjoy every character.
Life's better that way, y'know? When you stop complaining and criticizing and just enjoy stuff...

Now that there is some legit criticism and what I'd like to see more rather than people crying over new characters or how their favorite didn't make the roster.
 
Sonya swapped for Reiko (His true intentions for power came to light and now the fight for Power/Control has another villain to contend with)
Kitana swapped for Sindel (Kitana remained dead, while Sindel was revived and grief stricken over killer her daughter while under the control of Quan Chi)
Kung Jin swapped for Cyrax (Part of both the Lin Kuei & Special Forces, Cyrax is apart of the new team and protector of the Group)

Havik...definitely a behind the scene kind of villain but still have a major role
 
i'm fine with the roster but there really are a ton of completely wasted slots. and i mean that like


johnny, sonya, cassie... 3 slots, could be narrowed down to 1 easily with just cassie carrying on the legacy.

jax and jacqui... same thing, could have just one or the other

i like liu kang, it might not be MK without him, but they could probably trade him out for a new character to take his place or something.

so all in all, 6 slots, that could've been easily put as 2 characters, then 4 remaining slots for other new or better combatants.

We've seen enough of their playstyle, I, for one, don't need to give them a chance. I can't stand generic US action movie-style characters - if that's your cup of tea, it sure as f.u.c.k. ain't mine.

I like Noob, Ermac, Smoke, Reptile, Kenshi - those are interesting and unique characters, alongside quite a few others. A ton of worthy ( and fascinating ) classic fighters didn't make the cut, because NRS had to take a huge dump and stuff in generic junk like Jacqui and Cassie Cage. Why on earth do we need Sonya and Cassie, and Jax and Jacqui? That is what I call a premium waste of slots.

And once again - story mode or not, this game has the potential to SHINE, if they emphasize on a roster filled with interesting characters, and they perfect and polish up the freakin' netcode.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to sell the interesting characters I mentioned ( and didn't make the cut ) as DLCs further down the line - it would make perfect sense from a business point of view then to sell us those generic pieces of junk with the initial roster.

Also - no stage fatalities. Not even stage brutalities. Idiotic beyond belief.

NRS didn't learn their lesson, apparently - they should limit the experimentations and don't turn their back on what revived the MK series - the return to the roots, and the classic characters.

That is what made MK9 such a huge success. The story was decent too, but in a game like this, the story mode CAN be a piece of crap, and the game will still be totally b.i.t.c.h.i.n' if it's got great and unique characters, smooth netcode, and brutal and dynamic gameplay.

Notice how Boon never said anything in specific about the netcode of MK X?

Nice bias. All of those you mentioned, maybe with the exception of Kung Jin since he's new, deserve to be in the game a shit ton more than Tanya.

Attacking? No, just the truth. My favorite wasn't even mentioned in your post. I just find it hilarious that someone with Tanya as their favorite wants to get rid of characters that are classic and made MK what it is.

I don't think any are wasted per se, as it seems everyone in this game has some role in the story for MKX.

However, I would have traded Jax (with Jacqui being in) for Smoke (in human, cyborg, or enenra form) in a heartbeat.

Fujin too. It'll be horrible if he "almost made it" into MK9 but somehow gets tossed (as in, non DLC) from MK X too.

This is a thread full of OPINIONS on who you believe are wastes of space on the roster or not.
If I feel like Jax is a waste of space, (which almost everyone in this thread agrees with), then it's my opinion.
There's absolutely no need to say that my opinion is ridiculous.
Same way that you think tanya is shit, I think the characters I mentioned are shit.
I respect that you hate tanya, same as you should respect my opinion.
I'm done arguing with you over something that you shouldn't have started in the first place.

not sure yet if im buying :/
mileenas the only character on the roster i like.
its just bad luck that all the returning characters are not my bag
and all the new characters dont show anything interesting that makes me want to pick them up, theyre all dull either design wise or gameplay wise or both.
and that makes up almost the entire roster

so not sure if its worth it for just one character, people say give them a chance but ima pretty advanced player i can tell just by gameplay footage whats my style and whats not.

if baraka or sindel is playable id be a definite buy, then at least id have 2 or 3 to play with.
but just the thought of only having one main makes my heart sad.

MK9 i had 4 to 6 mains

I think people need to play the game before resorting to knee jerk reactions. Its NRS vision and this is the story they want to tell. My only problem is the strange absence of so many iconic characters like smoke, sektor, cyrax and kabal for example. I Hope they don't add them as dlc later in a atempt to make even more money.
