What happens after MKX: Mortal Kombat 11 character Wish List

But she's not the sidekick of that duo. Jade is. That's why Jade will never be a final boss or a main protagonist.

Yet we've seen sidekicks and non-main protagonists have risen above those titles and become something more!
Mileena was always just Kitana's (lesser) twin. In MKX, she doesn't have anything to do with Kitana at all and are one of the focal points of the story. Johnny Cage who has always been this side-character comic relief with no real importance suddenly became one of the biggest heroes of Earthrealm!

And overall, in my opinion at least, the secondary characters turn out to be alot cooler than the main ones.
Jade has the potential. NRS just gotta grasp it and do something about it.

All this said though... I don't think Jade will be a final boss character. I don't want her to be one.
I do think a female boss would be cool though.

In all honesty, I could never see either Jade or Kitana as the main end boss, which is why that MKX ending with Raiden is a bit odd for me.
I could see Kitana being the Quan Chi to Liu Kang's Shinnok, as a final boss, though? Nah.
Liu Kang is the more evil of the 2 in MKX, and his MKX ending (while it may or may not be canon) points more towards him being a boss character.
It would be funny if Shang Tsung comes back in MK11 as an anti-hero or hero, while Liu Kang is the evil boss that he has to stop.
That would be an interesting twist of fate / role reversal, imo.

In all fairness, Kitana was actually raised to eventually be a ruler, so I would think she has more experience ruling a realm than Liu Kang does, so from that standpoint, you can make the case that the boss order could be Liu Kang first and Kitana last, but this could go either way. Or it could be like Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in MKDA, where the order of the two would be random

I dunno.
I don't see Kitana being a ruler of NetherRealm, but rather more of a side evil character / sub-ruler to Liu Kang.
Yeah, Mileena was also a side character who got her own story and stopped being a side character in MKX, but she still wasn't final boss material in MKX.
The same goes for Kitana, imo.
She could get her own story or no longer be anyone's puppet, but I don't see Kitana being a final boss.

Shang Tsung?
Now there's a character who I could see being either anti-hero, hero, or just evil with his own motives, if he doesn't answer to anyone in MK11.
Shang Tsung always had the potential to be an ultimate boss, but unfortunately he always served Shao Kahn.
Even in MK1, Shang Tsung was the "final boss" as far as that game was concerned, but he still served Shao Kahn.

having kitana or jade as a boss all it means is that they're gonna die again (but this time in an explosive fashion)

That woman in Jade's MK9 ending should be given the Hsu Hao treatment.

I doubt that will happen. No way NRS would show her twice (first in MK9 and then in MKXL) just to get a Hsu Hao treatment. There has to be a better reason why she was shown twice. Plus, many fans demand Jade and the woman will most likely be the reason to make Jade a better character.

Not sure why you want to make Jade this special corn flake. I just want her to be her own individual as a playable character, but that doesn't mean she needs to be a super secret unlockable boss character. That just doesn't seem to fit her character at all. And if your arguement is that she was a secret character in MK2, well, so were Noob, Smoke and Reptile (though in MK1), and I don't see them be given any sort of treatment like that either.

Jade is cool, she's my favourite character, but she truly isn't that super special as you want her to be.

If Jade really was anything special, I'm pretty sure she would've risen above the level of "Kitana's sidekick" 15 years ago.

Johnny Cage only just rose above being a secondary character in MKX, and he's been in the franchise from the start. It's never too late. The devs just gotta make it so.

Johnny Cage was never supposed to be a secondary character to begin with, especially considering the origins of how this particular character was created in the first place (in fact, he was the first character ever created for MK). MK was originally supposed to be a Jean Claude Van Damme, who turned the project down, so instead, Cage was based on him (and I'm still convinced he was loosely named after Nicolas Cage).

Well, he was .
It was because the fans treated him as such. Actually, I think he may have gotten treated worse than even Hsu Hao at various points. He was the first character ever created for MK. Surely he deserved much better from the very start.

The MK team treated him like that as well. He was never given a prominent role in the old timeline. He was even killed off at some point before MK3, only to be resurrected in MK4... and was still not given any relevance.

The point still stands that he was based directly on the original plan for MK, and that fact effectively made him the first character ever created for MK. That is significant by itself. Even if he never got the spotlight, he'd still be a significant character based solely on his place in MK history as the first character.
