What game are you playing right now?

Replaying Dragon Age Origins. Playing it on PC instead of PS3 feels weird to me, but I get the hang of it.Almost forgot how much fun the game is, even if my laptop has to run it in low everything to play smoothly.

How are you liking it so far? The beginning is a little slow at first compared to P3.

Yeah, it's a pretty slow start. It took two days of playing before I'm at the point of having full control over my character. The presentation is pretty slick, except for the dungeons (though not much can be expected for randomized dungeons). There is a quite a limitation in what you can do in day, but it encourages some planning and optimizing your use of your resources. I kind of wish some encounters and item drops were not so rare, because they are required for certain quests. Some enemies seem to require certain skills to defeat them, which can be troublesome if you unable to acquire a persona(s) that possess specific skills.

I do like the fact that the personas do give a lot of flexibility for your main character though; allowing him to switch roles and exploit enemy weaknesses. Currently, I'm at the point where I saved Yukiko and Kanji making an appearance.

I finally beat The Answer to Persona 3. I am now completely done with P3. What an amazing game. It's definitely in my top 5 favorite games of all time now. It seriously is. The story was incredible. It was dark and depressing and the ending was everything you ever wanted in an ending. The ending was sad, beautiful, heartfelt and just all around incredible.

But now It's time to start...

I've been mostly playing Persona 4. I finished the 2nd dungeon and things are starting to pick up.

I'm also playing Fallout 2, but I'm slowing down, since I am running out of quests to complete and places to explore. Perhaps, I just need to wrap up this playthrough and play again with a different approach.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm just now seeing it.

Yeah, since there's only so much you can do within the day, it really takes you planning out what you're going to do, like either spending time with someone to level up their Social Link or going to work to get Charm/Intelligence/Courage skill points and getting money.

Battles will take awhile since you'll have to go through all of your Persona's to find that one enemies weakness, but once you get Rise on your team, she'll provide back up which she can analyze the shadow and tell you their weakness (unless it's a boss), so that'll make the battles less difficult and they'll be faster.

I didn't have that problem in P3 because Mitsuru provides back up from the get go until you save Fuuka who provides back up when she joins you. So battles in P3 were always faster than the ones in P4. Especially since P4 is actually harder.

Once you get Kanji, things will start to pick up faster.

Yeah it was really weird playing it at first on the PC for me too since I first played it on PS3 as well. I ended up changing the controls to my liking and got the hang of it really quick.

It sucks you have to play it on low. I had to do that when I was playing it on my laptop, but once I got my gaming desk top, it could play it at max. It looked really really good. You could see the detail they put into the shields and armor and everything.

Yeah, the few minutes I played on high it was really noticeable. I miss seeing the blood all over the characters after fights the most though. Its not too bad w/o high settings though; I just wish I could sneak it to medium lol. Also hooked up w/ Morrigan already. :proud:

I can't say the battles are any slower any other turn-based RPGs I played. Due to resistances of enemies as well as your own, getting a diversified set of personas is encouraged. The first dungeon presented some difficulty due to small choice of available persona cards and being at a low level means fewer slots available; I'm at the point where I just recruited Kanji, so now I have all bases covered as far as elements are concerned. On another, note, it seems getting the initiative in battle is especially important in this game; my party got wiped out by enemies who can exploit my parties' weaknesses whenever they get can make the first move.

Overall, I'm enjoying the game the so far. I am thinking about getting Persona 3 in the future, though I heard your allies are strictly AI-controlled, which doesn't sit well with me.

Yeah P3 is AI controlled, sometimes, it's good and sometimes it's really really REALLY bad. Like for example, Akihiko would use Maziodyne (High electric damage to all enemies. So it being high and to ALL enemies, it takes up a SHIT LOAD of SP) on enemies he didn't even need to. It's a waste of SP and it's stupid. Yukari would be on Heal/support and Aigis would be on her last leg and instead of healing, she'd do Wind Break which takes up 40 SP AND she didn't need to do it because she needed to heal Aigis.

So yeah, sometimes, it's alright and sometimes it's just plain bad. But don't let it stop you from getting it. P3 was simply amazing. Far better than 4 and I didn't think it would be. I LOVE P3.
