What do you want NRS to work on next?

Honestly, I'd rather see MK10. But yeah I don't mind seeing a new adventure game. If they do make one, I hope it's a canon one. Like something that happens in between MK9 and MK10. I want the show to keep on going. I don't like to wait. I been waiting for the story to keep going for a while.

An action-adventure game doesn't need to follow the MK9 canon, for me, as long as it's good.
After the intro cut-scene, lots of the stuff in MK: Shaolin Monks wasn't canon either, and that game was good and fun to play.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion teaming up (like in Sub-Zero's MK9 ending) to take out the Lin Kuei and Quan Chi, would be good enough for me.

i red an article on MKO that says -the next NS game is a new MK VS DC game!!
anyway an new action advnture game where you can explore the mk universe and you can play multiplayer like god f war ascension would be awsome

This. I think Scorpion and Sub-Zero teaming up makes the most sense in the MK4 era anyway because they both have a common enemy in Quan Chi. They should make that whole game revolve around defeating Quan Chi and Shinnok, and then have MK10 continue after the MK4 era. If they are ever going to do a game with these two teaming up then the time is now.

@Injustishman26

That was an April's fool joke. They set it up on the site to screw with people. NO MKvsDC 2 is coming out possibly ever.

they need to make a Mortal Kombat mmorpg with fighting elements. think conquest mode / k.a.k. where you can visit all the realms of the mkverse. yup. call it "the REALMS of Mortal Kombat"

As far as a Scorpion and Sub Zero game is concerned I'd rather have them start off from their younger days, like an origin story for both Scorpion (as Hanzo) and Sub Zero (starting with Bi Han, later Kuai Liang), going through the MK mythologies story arc again with either of one of them till they clash and Hanzo gets killed. He can retain the canon story till then and after than go off with their own spin off story with fighting the brotherhood, Lin Kuei and Quan Chi. I rather not bring in Shinnok into this though, cause he never had anything to do with them, and both Scorpion and Sub Zero has fueled by the thirst for revenge rather than being a protector of realms, it would be a bit out of character for them and plus we have other heroes for that.

Agreed on Shinnok.
On the other hand, if Scorpion and Sub-Zero went after Quan Chi and Noob Saibot betrays Quan Chi during that final fight, to become the new ruler of the NetherRealm, that would be pretty awesome, IMO. ;)

It doesn't have to be canon going into MK10, for me.
Like I said before, Shaolin Monks wasn't canon either, but it was a fun game nonetheless.

I would forsake thoughts of a Scorpion and Sub Zero adventure game, as it may not bare much fruit, despite their popularity.
An 'Origins' story would lose interest because their lives did not gain interest until MK:MSZ and then MK1 and on, in which they became 'some help' to the MAIN cause of MK. No more important than Sonya, Jax, or Cage. so not enough to have a separate game out of.

A few of you have made suggestions that may work, yet...would they shit gold?(the MAIN thing NRS and WB care about if they considered such an idea of having scorp and subz in their own game, which id be surprised if they haven't already...) Its one thing to have a Scorp and Sub Zero game(HYPE GALORE!!), but if it turns the stomach...then who cares?

The non canon Idea of Scorp asking Subz to team up with him to hunt quan chi in the netherrealm after it was revealed him to have killed Scorp's family in MK4 is an interesting idea, but, ...would that fill NRS and WB's purse to bursting? and who but Scorp, Subz, quan chi and some netherrealm forces would be added? an MK game absent the majority of the ones who give it breath = no good sells.

Despite what some people believe, Scorp and Subz only do not give MK life...apologies. A body's most famous parts are arguably its Brain and Heart, yet the liver, lungs, kidneys, etc, are all needed to maintain the body, should one cease to exist, they body would follow eventually.

An idea strunk mind of MK game that centered on Hanzo's rise to Scorpion in the Netherrealm, After his death at Sub Zero's hands. From there, he trains, completes missions for Quan chi in the Netherrealm, etc, all while gaining new strength, and powers his former self could not began to grasp. He gains all he needs by the time he goes back to Earthrealm as Scorpion, so that he may take vengeance upon Sub Zero in MK1, may yet run into Sub Zero prematurely while Subz is in the Netherrealm looking for the shinnok's amulet as it was in his own game.

Only issue is, Again, who of MK's icons but Scorp, Quan Chi, Subz, Shinnok(maybe) and perhaps some newly created chars who would be affiliated with the netherrealm, would we see in this game?
Surely No Kitana, Jade, Mileena, liu Kang, Raiden, Shao kahn..., so more than likely, not many sells...despite Scorpion being the focus.

I believe that Shaolin Monks stood out above all other MK adventure games and even some of the regular MK games because it had MUCH things that were Highly Favored: a VERY popular time period in MK(MK2), the ENTIRE cast of that period(arguably one of the best MK ensembles),that interacted with you in various way, in addition to gameplay, easter eggs, etc.
Although the game featured non canon material, MK:SM was but an interpretation of Actual events during Canon MK2 era, with added and altered events for dramatization and entertaining purposes.
Similar to that of a Hollywood movie adaptation of a REAL event in history, Majority of not straying from actual recorded events, yet adding or changing a few for entertainment of the viewers.

I entertain doubt that NRS would 'entertain' their 'What if endings' to where a separate game is sprung from it...

Thrill Kill Reboot (If they get a chance to own it or work with its company.)
(If wikipedia isn't screwing with me) Didn't Midway bought it's company when they were trying to have a bigger income?
Anyways. The zombie game idea is intriguing. But, what would be it's catch (how do you see it)?

Interesting. Would it be a numbered release?

I want a game where you play as the villain...

Maybe you play as Shao Khan manipulating people, and putting the fear into people.

but if you do TOO much fear inducing people start to want to retaliate. So you need to right amount of everything you do with your actions. To successfully conquer a few worlds.

Then the ending is when you decide you want to invade Earthrealm.

About Thrill Kill: If that's the case, they better make it again!!!

For the zombie game, the gameplay should be brutal, dark, and gritty. Multiplayer vs and coop modes should be available. Melee weapons should mainly have brutal kills especially with chainsaws. Guns and explosives should also be available. I don't want it to be a comedy at all. I want something serious as Resident Evil and not like Lollipop Chainsaw (storywise).

An origin story for both Scorpion and Sub-Zero would be interesting, but I'd personally rather see that visualized through a different medium, like a graphic novel.

And while I can understand why people think a non-canon game would be best, I personally would prefer to see a canon action-adventure game that ties into MK10's story, like what Mythologies did. That game really strengthened MK4's overall story more than people realize, as it brought the Shinnok arc to a full circle. I would love to see something similar happen with MK10

Thats the beauty of it, what is cannon now for MK?

You have the original timeline, the reboot timeline, Shaolin Monks timeline. KT did right comparing it to Batman in a way you can have multiple dimensions etc.

The reboot timeline and the original timeline are the same timeline... you just see raiden go back and change things.

It's not 2 different universes. Everything that happened up til armageddon, happened. It's just being undone, that's all. Future raiden still experienced EVERYTHING before sending that message back in time.

I don't think it's ever been officially confirmed whether it is non-canon or not, but a lot of fans consider it to be so and IMO, I think it's best to consider it so, too.

There are a lot of differences and between Shaolin Monks' story and the original story of MK2, a lot of them even being contradictory. A lot of characters like Goro, Jade, and Ermac die in that game, too, which never even happened once for any of those characters in the main games

Well yeah, but come on, it is MK. I remember hearing Boon's summation of the argument they had over that; they basically reached the conclusion that it just wouldn't be MK if you couldn't kill everybody in your path. I feel like we're supposed to look the other way on a lot of the "deaths" in that game.

My main problem with the SM storyline is Kitana's "omg i was liek under a spell lol im sorry". Hell no I don't accept that shit. ****ing ridiculous.
