What do you collect?

I took a nap earlier and was out bidded on the sealed Closer cassette.

It only went up to $12.

Oh well, I'm using that money to buy Broken with the mini 3 inch CD with the bonus tracks since I've always wanted one and never got around to getting one. Funny enough is that the auction says that the CD is located in Kansas City, which is awesome because if he doesn't do local pick up (which I'd prefer to save on shipping) it'll be to me within 2 days, if that.

Oh that. I have that.

That artbook and OST originally came with vanilla P3 (not FES).

Just a heads up, it's not the full OST and the artbook is alright. You'd be better off getting the P3 Official Design Works instead.

No wonder why similar items were much more expensive. I'll get it anyways, but I'll be sure to ask you next time I buy SMT stuff.

Got this last night at the midnight release.

I have been outbid within a minute the auction was going to end. Sometimes I wonder if it's actually the sellers' doing when the current bid is not as high as they want it to be.

What'd you get outbid on?

I don't think a seller can bid on their own auction. I've also tried to make a new eBay account years ago and it wouldn't let me since I still on the same computer that I used to make my original account. So I don't think they really can.

It happened to me more than once, but the last item I remembered was Disciples 2 Gold, an old PC game.

Bidding was closing within a minute or so, when I refreshed the page, I found that someone outbid me by 50 cents. Needless to say I wasn't very happy.

In other news, I just got the Persona 3 art book and CD this morning. I was surprised that book was a hardcover, which is a definite plus with me.

Not sure if it's called collecting but lately, I've been in the library borrowing music CDs and downloading my favorite songs from them and then returning the CDs. I will try to collect ALL songs that I want fr each of my favorite artists like Beyonce, J. Lo, Britney, and Rihanna.

^
No that's not collecting, that's more or less just gathering.

Go out and buy the CD's and start collecting them.

Yeah the artbook is nice, it's just small. That's really the only reason I don't like it.

Technically, it is a form of collecting, but just about anyone can compile digital material on their PC if they know where to look. Acquiring physical goods requires more effort and even more luck. It's pretty easy to find audio files for video game soundtracks, but good luck having the actual CD in your collection without paying a pretty penny.

Thanks.

Actual CD is good. If not, a digital album. I'm really not going to get an entire album if it had songs I don't like of course. But yeah, it's worth a try. Lol

I need 4 more cassettes:

1. Pretty Hate Machine sampler (which is a holy grail and worth $200+)
2. Head Like a Hole cassette (only released in AU and worth $300+)
3. March of the Pigs cassette (only released in AU and worth $300+)
4. The Fragile snippet sampler (shows up every once in awhile for $30+)

I don't have the regular slip case Head Like a Hole and March of the Pigs AU cassettes but I do have UK promos of them which are obviously worth a lot more.

One day dammit. One day.

Double post!

Here's what I got this week in the mail:

Closer lot. It contains

1. Closer to God US first pressing from 1994
2. Closer to God AU first pressing from 1994 import
3. Closer (Further Away) UK part 1 of 2 first pressing from 1994 import.
4. Closer US cassette

Today I got The Day The World Went Away US cassette brand new and sealed (only for $9 including shipping!)

Here is the current cassette line up.

Top row: Pretty Hate Machine, Head Like a Hole UK promo, Sin US sealed, Sin UK (in cigarette pack)
Second row: Broken, Fixed, March of the Pigs UK promo, The Downward Spiral, Closer
bottom row: The Day The World Went Away (sealed), The Fragile US (sealed), Things Falling Apart (Turkey import) sealed, And All That Could Have Been Thai import sealed.

Just now realized that all of my Fragile era cassettes are sealed.

I've come to the conclusion that there are three things that I collect a lot and they are:

Sketch books
Eye shadow
Stuffed Tigers

Since I'm an artist, I like to have enough paper and I feel that stacks of printer paper just won't due. Mainly because I like to make sure all of my drawings are in one spot and since sketch books have that ability to keep all my work in one spot, hey!

Eye shadow, *sighs* I love make-up. I'm one of those girls who refuses to go out the door unless I have something on my eyes. I don't go hog wild with them, I don't have stacks of make up, I just put on one shade (mostly blue) and I have my eye liner that will go on the tip of the bottom lid or the tip of the top lid, it depends on what mood I'm in. I don't put on mascara unless I'm going somewhere that I feel looking a bit dolled up is worth it.

Stuff Tigers, I LOVE tigers. I actually joined Greenpeace one time just to donate to the tigers, but I had to stop because they were demanding too much. But I've been a fan of tigers since God knows when. I have a lot, too many to count. Most are put away in a crate in my bedroom, others I have being cuddle on my bed or guarding something underneath my bed in my dorm. One of them also comes with me to my class by riding in the pouch of my backpack. (And she has to wear a sweater because it's cold out) I might be completely weird or whatever when it comes to my Nellie, but hey, we all have something special to us. (And she means a heck of a lot to me)

Aww. <3

Glad someone finally posted here so I wouldn't have to post 3 times in a row.

Got all of my imported CD's in last week. Sin, March of the Pigs, Closer and With Teeth cassette so I decided to take a pic of all of my imported items.

First row (of CDs) is the US pressings and the 2nd-3rd row are UK imports with different tracklistings/artwork.

The reason that the top row has a gap is because I actually do NOT have a US release of March of the Pigs, though I do plan on getting one here soon since they're dirt cheap (as in I can probably get one for 2 dollars on eBay).

I actually still have some gaps left in my import collection. I still want a numbered UK Down In It slimline, Into The Void Australia exclusive cardslip single and With Teeth UK (or Japan) tour edition.

All 3 parts of We're In This Together with the 'Made in Sweden' stickers on the back.

Survivalism card sleeve with 'Made in England' sticker on front.

Sin with 'Made In England' sticker on the back.

I also won these badass embossed album flats that were given to The Spiral members (official NIN fanclub) when they joined the fanclub back in 2005-2007 for only 99 cents. Fvcking awesome since the last time I saw these on eBay they were going for $30-$40. I guess no one was paying attention to these when the auction ended because 99 cents is a fvcking steal deal.

What's awesome as hell is that the designs on the flats are embossed so you can feel the design on the thick paper like it's popping out of the paper. I can't wait to get these. I'm definitely going out to buy 6 12 x 12 frames so I can frame them and put them with my limited edition numbered and autographed Rob Sheridan print that I bought 2, almost 3 years ago.

I don't produce as much art like a used to, but during the time I did, a sketchbook was always. Too bad, a lot of the sketches got smudged over time.

Spoiler:

While I don't keep up with NIN by any means, I do dig the artwork in that print.

BTW, what merchants/websites do you go to import your stuff?

Rob Sheridan has done a lot of art work for different stuff. He's also done the art work for The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Here's a few of his art designs that he's mostly known for that you might recognize from surfing the web of internets.

Spoiler:

The name to that print is called 'Troublemaker'. I got it back in the winter of 2010 around Christmas time. Rob was doing second pressings of certain prints that were sold out for awhile. The second pressings have some new or alterations done to them. If you couldn't tell the difference between the one above and the one of mine: the little Troublemaker is a different color. My print, though it being a second pressing, is actually rarer than the first pressings because the first pressings I believe there was only 80 printed while the second pressings only had 50 pressed. I actually bought it as a Christmas present from myself to myself lol. I remember when I ordered it, I was going to wait till morning and sleep on if I should buy it or not but I impulsed bought it and I'm HAPPY that I did because when I woke up the next morning in big red letters 'SOLD OUT.

I was hoping that the one I got was 50/50 but I'm definitely happy that I at least got one.

Not even for the NIN aspect of it, but as someone who really enjoys Robs artwork, I would recommend anyone to get a Rob Sheridan print, even if a little on the pricey side but a fair deal imo because the paper it's printed on is awesome and the art definitely speaks for itself.

I'm hoping one day that Rob will actually make a reprint of my 2 other favorite pieces of his; Leaving Town and Follow Me.

Leaving Town
http://www.rob-sheridan.com/img/leavingtown.jpg
I really love the symbolism behind this design.

Follow Me.
http://www.rob-sheridan.com/img/followme.jpg
This is the one I want the most. If Rob had a second print of this along with Troublemaker, I would have gotten this instead.
I like it because I think I can relate to it. Even as a little kid I was drawn more to the darker not-so-kidfriendly kind of stuff. I grew up listening to NIN, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Ozzy/Black Sabbath and watching horror and slasher flicks like The Exorcist, It, Species, Friday The 13th, Halloween, Pumpkin Head and Hellraiser while I should have been listening to shit like Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the rest of the radio garbage and watching shit like The Land Before Time, Stuart Little and Power Rangers. Hell, 2 of my favorite shows as a kid were Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? lol.

As for the imports, I either get them from eBay if the price is right or Discogs.com. Discogs is an awesome place to get CDs/vinyls/cassettes. I also have quite a few friends in the NIN collector community that will part with an import if it's something that isn't that rare.

I looked through Discogs, and I didn't find anything that I want at the moment. Most of the soundtracks I'm looking for are out of print anyways, although it's good to know my options when shopping online. I considered Play-Asia, YesAsia, CD Japan but I heard mixed things about them.

I'd recommend signing up for a Discogs.com account and making a 'want list' and they'll email you when someone is selling an item you want. It's pretty cool and definitely useful if you're collecting rare stuff.

I never posted it on here but I actually have a pretty decent A Perfect Circle collection. About 8 shirts, all 3 main albums, the remix album, a few vinyls and almost all the singles besides 1.

I decided to put the disks to good use.

It's A Perfect Circle within A Perfect Circle. A Perfect Ception.

I'm missing the single 'Imagine' (John Lennon cover) but that's it. On the left side going down it's:

Judith
Mer de Noms bonus CD
3 Libras EU import part 1
3 Libras EU import part 2
3 Libras AU import
3 Libras US radio promo
The Hollow AU import

On the right side:

Weak and Powerless
The Outsider EU DVD
Blue radio promo
Passive radio promo

In the middle is a limited edition etched 7 inch vinyl.
