"As perceptive gamers will have noticed, several hints have recently been dropped into Payday The Heist, which has led to various rumors. We are excited to be able to confirm that an in-depth collaboration between Overkill and Valve is currently in production.

"We are working on a very cool blend of PAYDAY and Left 4 Dead. I am sure it is so exciting that it will have some players check into the hospital before we are done."

I never played PayDay the Heist, but alot of people said it reminded them of L4D. I noticed this too just from looking at gameplay footage. I guess its unfair for me to say anything cause I have never played it, but it looked like a Valve game, except without the Valve charm. You get me? So hearing that the creators of Payday will be working with Valve makes me happy because it seems like they can finally make the game that they intended it to be. But we dont even know if its going to be a game similar to payday, thats just what people are saying. They could come up with something completly new.



Also, about HL2 ep 3. I honestly think they should wait and release it when the new generation of consoles are out. That way they could create a new engine around the same time.

well, after looking into this some more across the web, people seem to be pulling details out of there ass. I've heard its going to be a colaboration between the 2 companies making a new game, and then I've heard its going to be a mix between L4D and Payday with zombies and bank robbers. What would zombies want with money, I have no idea. Or maybe the cops are the zombies?

So many rumors and I'm beginning to fear that this will suffer the same fate as every other rumor that has something to do with Valve..........Squashed by Gaben's ass.

Just recently, Gaben made a guest appearence in a video demonstrating swordcrafting and its usage in video games.

Could be joking around, or maybe the bangs on the crowbar are symbolic and really do represent the development on Episode 3 is in fact going on right now as we speak.

While some already believed they were working on it, it was never official. They could have never even started development for all we know, so this video is a possible ray of hope.

I think that was a great metaphor. The crowbar is the most symbolic thing to the Half-Life universe. Has Gabe lost weight?

What do you think of DOTA 2? I am debating on buying the invite bundle for $40 plus get a grip of 'free' bundles on top of it. It looks fun but I have never played those types of games much, not in years.
 
Just got my invite for DOTA 2 this morning! Installing now for those that don't know...

Dota 2 is an upcoming action real-time strategy video game being developed by Valve Corporation and the stand-alone sequel to the popular Defense of the Ancients mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne. Formally announced on October 13, 2010 via Game Informer, the game is currently available for early access purchase and is scheduled for a full release in 2012, with a free-to-play business model. Dota 2 will be released via download by Valve's content delivery platform Steam, on which the game has been developed to run exclusively for both game launch and update delivery. Dota 2 will run on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.

The game consists of session-based online multiplayer activity, with the primary objective of each match being for the teams to destroy their opposing team's fortified stronghold. Each player controls a player character called a "hero", who is given the responsibility of participating in team combat, which generally takes place along a series of lanes that connect their opposing bases, lined with defensive towers. The gameplay elements are largely incorporated from Defense of the Ancients, with the game's lead designer, IceFrog, being the longest-serving and current developer of the Warcraft III mod.

Meet the Pyro was pretty good. I'll admit it felt a little rushed, but the premise was both hilarious and dark at the same time. And thats part of TF2's style. I enjoyed it. But my favorite part of the whole thing was the closing sequence. Where it shows pyro's happy place, then through soldier's spine it cuts to the real world and all the dead bodies. Simply brilliant.


Also, source filmaker may be new but there are already some talented people out there putting it to great use. And this is just the beggining. Just imagine in a few months when people start to get the hang of it. How good these fan movies will turn out. And when the masses are able to get it. (this is the beta and only a limited amount of people have it)

Well you can still run around in Garry's Mod and play 'house'.

But that video is so schizo it is awesome, really enjoyed it. Did you play that new Doomsday mode?
 
I've been playing the new rocket game mode and its great, however it's only fun if both teams are of equal skill though.

Otherwise it can be over really fast and that gets boring.
 
Yeah I was playing too, and I def agree what you said about equally skilled teams! The server I have been playing has auto scrambled teams enabled so it was always pretty fun.

Have you tried out your Pyrovision googles? Lol it is hilarious!

Btw have you ever bought anything from the store? I am not great at crafting and don't have time to play all day to get random driops. Was thinking about dropping $30-$60 to upgrading TF2's weapons and buy some hats. All my shit is vintage!

As goofy as pyrovision is, it actually makes the maps more simple and more easy to see where players are cause they stand out. But still, I cant imagine myself using it all the time. Only on occasions.

And if you want I guess you should drop by the shop and see what weapons they have. Theres been alot added this last 2 years. I'm very interested in this new scattergun for scout. I'll probably craft it, but I understand your position so its best to go ahead and buy it.

DOTA 2 is F2P, I have played it a couple times since I got selected to play the beta and I really enjoy it. Right now it is just a bunch of eletist assholes (I don't know how to play the genre) but when the noobs flood the servers when it is released for free, it should be a blast. There is a steep learning curve that I am trying to get the hand of. But even when I give up caring about winning, it still is fun to get lost in the world of DOTA2.
 
I've been playing the original DotA since 2005 and even though I got a beta key early on for the sequel I haven't played it that much (under 10 hours) I find league of legends more fun :D
