Tryning to guess who will be the final boss...

If Ed Boon said the final boss of the game is a surprise returning character then what about Sektor as the main boss? I doubt anyone would expect him to be the main boss. Sektor can must enhance his cybernetics and create an army of cyber demons.

I highly doubt that. Sektor could never be boss-like unless he gets a serious upgrade. And judging by the look of the game and the characters revealed so far, it doesn't seem like MKX will revolve around an army of cyborgs wrecking sh** up.

As much as I love Sektor, I don't think he could be the main villain.
Definitely a large role villain though, like he was in MK9.

Shinnok & Quan Chi are definitely not in the "surprise" range, nor Shang Tsung or Shao Kahn, not even Onaga or Blaze, it's safe to say it will be someone who has never been a boss before, but it's anyone's guess whether a good character gets bad or an evil one gets bigger. Maybe someone who was not in MK9 is more likely, for example Tanya or Shujinko as a twist?

I would be surprise if Onaga shows up in MKX since most people doubt he will return anytime soon. I think he could fit the surprise range.

It has to be an MK9 character I think. They reestablished the series and gained a ton of new fans, new fans who would have no idea who Onaga is or why he's relevant. The next boss will likely be Liu Kang. Since two different endings hinted towards him becoming evil, and Boon mentioned that the "Big Bad" will be a surprise returning character. I cannot imagine that "returning" means a character from MK4-A since they technically don't even exist in the new timeline yet.

MK 5 endings hinted at the return of the Dragon King. And bam, there he was as the final boss of MK6.

Ok, I slightly updated the Liu Kang theory. This is a big 'if', but...

What if Raiden makes a deal with Quan Chi to resurrect Liu Kang? Liu returns, but is pissed at Raiden. Quan Chi, while resurrecting him, improves his powers and corrupts his mind and thus Liu joins the evil sorcerer. He plays the bad guy for a while, but then snaps out of it and turns on Quan Chi and Shinnok and tries to stop them. Liu is defeated again, but because he was brought back to life as a demi-god, this time he stays alive - at the cost of losing his enhanced powers and status. He says something along the lines that being a God must be really hard and forgives Raiden finally for MK9. Together they kick Quan Chis and Shinnoks ass and live happy.

This one is easy :)

It's going to be Motaro with Sheeva riding him.
She will be having 2 swords and 2 big hammers.

Motaro will be attacking you as well with all his good old
moves (that cheap bastard)

Oh man, that'd be hilarious! Extremely unlikely, but then, Boon has mentioned several times now (and again just recently) that having a quadrupedal character is unworkable for contemporary MK games. Wouldn't it be great if he's just been pulling a long con this whole time and the surprise returning character is Motaro?? Haha, a man can dream.

I've been hoping for a proper Motaro return since MK3. He's easily my favorite sub boss.

Mine too, easily! And come on, is it really that hard to model a centaur? God of War manages just fine. Granted, it would be asking too much to include a playable Motaro. That's fine by me though, he'd work best as an unplayable sub-boss anyway. Throws wouldn't work on him of course, but it would be great to have characters be able to perform slightly modified versions of their X-rays on him.

Motaro would be a boring novelty. You wouldn't be able to juggle him, you couldn't X-Ray him and projectiles probably wouldn't effect him.

Creating a natural quadrupedal walk and run is already difficult, but the difficulty is increased for a playable character. Look lion Sora in KH2 and you better understand.

Well with X-rays they could just assign one specific X-ray that every character pulls off on him. It's lazy, but it could work. And why wouldn't projectiles effect him?

Because they never did before and it was a defining trait of his.
Motaro in modern MK would be more of a mini game than a boss fight. He would negate the major mechanics of the game

I see your point about being a novelty/mini-game, but I don't think that negating the major mechanics of the game makes Motaro completely out of the question. For example, remember the Nancy bonus stage from Tekken?

Anyway, I'm not denying Motaro is an extremely unlikely inclusion for MKX, just saying it's not impossible for him to be included in future MK games.

They can pull off a giant fu***** robot and NRS can't even throw a Centaur into the series.... I don't buy and I never will. It's just laziness.

Nancy is so much more different than Motaro. It is literally a giant wall that does nothing but attacks.
MK9 was already filled to the brim with content, to call it laziness is just silly.

I will say though, it is a damn shame that Motaro had no speaking roles in the story.

No. I'm sticking with laziness. With a little extra time and effort they can make Motaro work. They just chose not to. And yes, MK9 has a sh** ton of content and had NRS chose not to reduce Motaro to a small cameo (to kill him off) and instead waited to use him in a future game, I would have been perfectly okay with that. But they made no attempt to involve him in a relevant way and then offed him in the most lackluster way.
