Tryning to guess who will be the final boss...

Kid NOVA hopes that Liu Kang stays in his form where MK9 ended with the electric scars. He looks good that way.

Araknyd_Commander, you don't see what Fujin and Raiden have to do with each other? Their MK4 endings showed that they were allies in the fight against Shinnok and Quan Chi. After Raiden ascended to elder-godhood, he chose Fujin to become the new protector of Earthrealm. Given that Raiden had to relinquish his elder-god status to participate in the next battle against the oh-so-lame deadly alliance, his prior ascension was canon, so Fujin's new role as earth's protector probably was too.

Nethervestige, you completely took what I said out of context.
I was mainly referring to both of them having different powers meaning that they are different characters, gameplay-wise.
You obviously missed that part:

One is a Wind God (Fujin) and the other is a Thunder God (Raiden).
I don't see what 1 has to do with the other, and I really don't see what 1 has to do with the other one being in or not.
In fact, I expect BOTH of them being in, since they are nothing like each other.
I WOULD bet on Raiden being in.

The 2nd part of my quote WAS referencing the MK9 story:
The main plot point of MK9 revolved around Raiden, and since MK X picks up shortly after MK9, Raiden should definitely make the cut.

Given that MK9 was essentially "the Raiden story," it would be weird as hell if MK X didn't have Raiden in it.
Don't get me wrong, I expect Fujin ALSO to be in it, but I also expect Raiden to be one of the "returning characters" that Ed was talking about.
His importance in this new timeline is too big to ignore.

As far as the MK4 relationship goes, that was the OLD timeline.
MK X is focusing on the NEW timeline (MK9), where those events may or may not necessarily play out that way.

Take it easy, Araknyd_Commander. I haven't 'obviously missed' anything, thank you very much.

Sure, maybe I attributed more emphasis to this point of yours than you intended to convey: 'One is a Wind God (Fujin) and the other is a Thunder God (Raiden). I don't see what 1 has to do with the other, and I really don't see what 1 has to do with the other one being in or not.'

So now you've clarified yourself, all good. How about you try to discuss things without going out of your way to make everyone else here look sloppy?

DARK SHAO KHAN should be the final boss,he's full of evilness, rage, anger & total darkness.

Maybe Raiden ascends to Elder-God status.. and he/they elect Lui-Kang to be the new protector of Earth Realm and make him a God. But Lui feels Raiden, after his screw up in MK2011 where he got pretty much everyone killed, isn't fit to be an Elder God and with his new found powers challenges him and defeats him and goes on a rampage. Maybe Raiden loses his powers and becomes a hermit hiding out for the last 25 years when finally shinnok and Quan Chi offer to give him back some of his magic abilities if he can help them defeat Kang.. Not sure where I'm going with this but would be interesting to see Super Kang and Normal Raiden..lol

I think the idea of Liu Kang returning as the bad guy is an awesome idea. The idea of a once "beloved" hero and champion of MK who has fallen or changed sides because they felt betrayed or whatever the reason is intriguing.

Also bc i was never a Liu Kang fan, i think i might like him better as a bad guy.

I also like the ideas or electrical scars and burns...if he did in fact survive the fight with Raiden.

I think it would make more sense that Lui Kang not be a "Bad guy" in the typical sense some of us are thinking. if he were to side with the forces of evil, like Quan Chi ect., and decide to annihilate earthrealm etc., That would be completely stupid and a lazy/childish transition for the character from a story telling aspect. I think if he's going to be a bad guy it needs to be in anti-hero/do something really screwed up for the greater good kind of way..

Has anybody seen "The Watchmen"??.. Remember the character Ozymandias? I would think Lui Kang would work great if he was a more complex character like that in how he becomes a "bad guy" and what he does.. (If you don't know what I'm talking about look up the film, or better yet watch it... great movie.)

It would be awesome to see Lui Kang so fed up with all the failures from both Raiden and his companions that he decides to take matters into his own hands after becoming a God himself, and he decides to do something absolutely horrible for the greater good of all the realms. It would be something really F***'d up, but in his mind it would be ending the constant wars and deaths and bring peace to all the realms, to him this act of immense horror would in fact be justified by the end result... however to everyone else it just wouldn't be acceptable, and so the warriors decide they need to bring him down to prevent this horrific event/thing

For those of you who are confused at what I mean when I say he should do something terrible for the greater good of the realms.. Not that I want this in anyway.. but here's an example of what I mean... think of WW2 and how the Americans dropped an atomic bomb (something awful) on two cities in Japan to end the war between them (greater good). In the end it stopped the war.. however it was a terrible loss of life and purely evil act justified by war.

Lui Kang would think of himself as the reluctant hero and that he is making a decision that needs to be done to put an end to these conflicts and or MK tournaments and all the deaths associated with it.. but in the end what he decides to do is just too evil and the gods and earth realm warriors have to interfere before he can accomplish his goal..

..To me.. doing that would not only keep in line with Lui Kang's character.. but would also make a lot more sense of his transition to being considered a "bad guy" rather than some thin crappy plot where his mind is taken over by Quan Chi and he's just some super powerful evil goon or something stupid like that. I want you as the player to have mixed feelings about what Kang is doing as you play through the story mode.. I can't stress the ending of "Watchmen" and the character Ozymandias more.. would be awesome.
