We will tell you guys when DLC is ready. #CheckYourSources #DontJumpToConclusions
This is why Capcom leads the way in the fighting game industry: they keep their fans properly informed. NRS, on the other hand, exemplify a lack of professionalism with keeping fans informed. How hard is it to give your fans straight answers?
This is an extremely valid point. Capcom had several DLCs in the first week alone and kept everyone informed.

If you are happy with this, it really shows how many gamers are being brainwashed these days. There should NEVER be DLC right after release. If you support this, you support paying for content that should have been in at release, or released for free. I can't see how people support previews of DLC before a game is even out. Is this how you want every game to be from now on?This is an extremely valid point. Capcom had several DLCs in the first week alone and kept everyone informed.

Charging $5 per downloadable character when the characters are already on the disc isn't terribly professional either. It's kind of a dick move. Being concerned with your fans and taking care of them is part of professionalism, it's part of doing their job well. NRS likes having fun with their rabid fanbase and have a history of keeping their cards close to the chest, it's their thing. Capcom shows no love for their community that I've ever really seen...

Capcom is just as bad in some respects when it comes to information. Look how long it took for them to announce SSF4 Arcade DLC for consoles after stringing everyone along.
The development of a game is a lengthy process. Once a game is completed there are many steps, which take time to get it on the shelves. For argument's sake well say it takes about 1 month to get all the disks, ship them out, and promote. In that month if you have a development team working on DLC that is outstanding. One factor that is crucial is keeping customers informed. When working on DLC a team will have a projected release date. They know exactly when this DLC will be available. And you're arguing that is doing their job wrong? To counter that I argue that companies that release a quality game (such as MK9) and release DLC are doing a great job. Let's also keep in mind DLC is optional. The game will work fine without a few more characters, so what's wrong with giving a customer the option?

Wednesday? PSN usually updates on Tuesday so we'd have to wait another week.
Exactly.
Nobody can actually believe that Shuma Gorath and Jill were made in two weeks.
Those silly sallys' made the characters, but kept them separate from the game.
Then released them, along with alternate colors for purchase. Again, alternate, colors.
That should not be how it is though.
All that man-power used on DLC could be used on other aspects of the game.
And to say DLC is optional in a fighting game is weird.
Its like ordering the Steak (game) and Potatoes (characters), which you paid for in full, then you only get the steak.
Then the waiter tells you you have the option of buying the potatoes.
This analogy only works when the DLC is released fairly early after the game's release.
I am completely fine with DLC that comes a while later.
I just want my klassic kitana
