the Trailer had Horrible Music, what would you replace it with

Tbh, idk why people are still harping over this as we have a new trailer now, with more info coming in the future including better trailers; plus its not like Wiz is gonna be making the soundtrack for the game lol.

The rap haters just couldn't hold it in "WHAT NOR ORCHESTRA?! WHAT NO METAL? :soapbox: i hate you NRS! You can't take my money!!"

What about Halford/Dickinson type of screaming?

I love Maiden and Priest, but you have to understand the majority of teenagers and early 20 somethings don't know or give a flying about them, and that's who they're marketing these games to. It wouldn't make much sense to use some 80's metal music in a game being released in 2015 that they're trying to push as new and exciting.

The Metal God and the Air Raid Siren, my 2 all time favourites. Those screams that cut through sound proofing make a good small part of their music. I agree with Skorpion that the screamo stuff these new bands do is awful.

What about those Cookie Monster vocals? I like that only because I was a Cookie Monster fan when I was a toddler.

It's a fact that music should exclusively be played with REAL musical instruments.

So, acapella styles of music aren't music just because it isn't played with instruments? I don't think that's the proper definition of music. Also, being elitist and a dedicated metalhead is kind of an oxymoron since most serious musicians on a higher level see metal as stuff for angry teenagers and manchildren exclusively, it's like trying to be what you hate.

I like music with screaming in it :/ If it's done right, it really adds to the emotion of the song. I don't like 'emo screamo' where it's really whiny (Although, I do listen to emotive hardcore music which is NOT scene).

Exactly... That's my point lol... Doesn't matter this thread is dying by the post

You... didn't answer my question. You call it shit, I ask why, and you say that's your point?

I... agree? I've always been of the mentality. In the case of some groups I believe that electronica can add to existing instrumentation, but I can't stand pure electronic.

Also, being elitist and a dedicated metalhead is kind of an oxymoron since most serious musicians on a higher level see metal as stuff for angry teenagers and manchildren exclusively, it's like trying to be what you hate.

I must disagree with this wholeheartedly. This is an entirely subjective statement. You obviously refer to higher level musicians as those with a classical background, or other more official accepted forms. Those musicians play that style because that's why they like. They are always going to look down on something they dislike? Does a famous classical artist looking down on jazz make it stuff for layabouts and donothings? If an incredibly high level musician who happened to be part of a metal group said classical music was something to look down upon, could that not be interpreted the exact same way? There is no way to say what you are trying to say without bias, because musicians as a whole will always be biased in favour of their preferred style of music.

I have a classically trained musical background, but I play jazz progrock and metal.

The song below is by the amazing metal guitarist Chris Letchford. It's one of the tracks off of his upcoming solo jazz album. I let it complete my point.

I don't care/too lazy to answer. This thread is dead lol. Explaining my reasoning to you isn't worth it because i'm done checking this thread pretty much. If anything go back and read man.. Lol.

Sadly they are very wrong, I find that kind of attitude 'off' to say the least. There have been studies linking musical taste to intelligence and of those I know of metal was no where near the bottom. Anyone who doubts that should realize the bands of today's youth (Oldality) are only a part of the genre. It's not all a cookie monster vocal mess with a few chords. Anyone who doubts that should have a listen to Iron Maiden's Dance of Death. Even if you don't like it that's a band with skill and depth.

Well that's good. The opinion of somebody too lazy themselves is worth less than the air they breathe. I can rest easy knowing you don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about, and anything you say can be easily regarded as worthless.

I too hope you get some good rest... Cuz I know when I leave the office at 5 and click that log off button, i'll forget anything that was said. So move on or continue to post, whatever helps you 'get sleep at night'

To you, and the other person who responded, I didn't say I agreed with the mentality, I love metal music myself...but I also love other forms of music and find any kind of elitism to be immature nonsense, I was simply pointing out how stupid it is to claim metal is an elite style of music when plenty of people feel like it's complete garbage, you can't be elite and an underdog at the same time.

It's ok I know you didn't agree. I just felt I needed to elaborate on my points.
