The most important part nobody ( including NRS ) talks about - the NETCODE

I pray to God NRS don't make the same mistake with MK X ONCE AGAIN.

If that's an indication, and the netcode remains the same, the game's doomed on day 1. I really don't get it - how can you make THAT MUCH MONEY, and still be ignorant/stupid enough not to realize how much you're hurting your business by allowing mediocre netcode?

NRS have the resources to polish this. Why do they keep ignoring it? I'm also 100 % sure that they will NOT answer any questions about the netcode at all before the release.

What do you guys think?

They don't talk about it because it's gonna suck. The region lock suggests a lack of confidence on their part. Best to accept it now.

Part of what bugs me on this is I'm very much a night owl. I'm from the UK so most of my online gaming is with Americans due to the time difference, so once the buzz settles down I'll be playing against the same 20/30 players. It's a small thing but in the modern fully connected world this is ridiculous!

So ridiculous. They're fully capable of creating & maintaining a decent netcode, considering they have the money & resources. Pure laziness on their part.

Although I don't really think Americans are in any position to be complaining; America is huge & the vast majority of MK fans & players are from the US. Here in Australia I have to play with the same 5 (or less) people every night, so consider yourselves lucky.

I don't understand why they'd go with the same net code after MK9's.... Even tho I played that game all the way up to this year it still would freeze, kick me out of rooms, desync, and other bs. Now they are really focused on the online stuff with factions and all that so why would they destroy their game using the same bad code? I don't understand it. MKX is supposed to be THE MK they've always wanted to make but obviously they don't even care enough. I'm just waiting to see if they fvcked over us US citizens who ordered the import edition by not using a US copy of the game for our purchase and if they fvcked over people in EU who ordered the other statue version by not giving them a EU disk. This is shameful because I was really looking forward to playing online... But after reading all those comments I don't think I'll be making high ranks on leaderboards this time smh.

I remember in an interview last year, Ed said that they worked on the netcode to make it better, also said online playability will be more stable, we can only hope because games like Tekken Tag 2, Guilty Gear Xrd & DOA 5 LR were all really well done, of course there's always lag or some delay, but check GGxrd even with 10 delay it was more then playable, 5 delay feels like you were playing offline thats how good it was, lets hope MKX is going to be alright!

If you haven't played it, you don't know anything about the netcode...

OMG if there is button delay like there was in MK9, i will be devastated. I could pull off 20+ hit kombos offline but online i could barely do what i wanted. The netcode has to be good!!! This whole game will be ruined if it isn't.

To make any use of Reptile's Deception variation I'll have to go online. This is not good. They can do better in 2015.

Here was absoulutely ridiculous. I only played 3 times online.

You can't time your combos with that delay. When you make a movement, you are just late for the other, and your rival is already beating you to death.

It was like 3 seconds of delay.

Terrible.

Keep in mind that region locks aren't necessarily related to netcodes. It could be due to censorship in other countries or it could be entirely WB's decision. A region lock will not give an indication of netcode or NRS's confidence in said netcode. There are too many other variables in play.

Edit: Besides. Locks same as mk9... We didn't have current gen then. As far as I'm concerned, same as mk9 means ps3 locked only. Xbone and ps4 will be region free I'm guessing. Especially with them hyping connecting the community globally through online. Granted.... It could only be through faction and leaderboard statistics, but I'm not getting torn one way or the other. I'd rather wait and see for real instead of some vague response that offers no credence to the current generation.

Injustice on PS4 isn't region free, so I don't see why MKX would be locked on PS3 only

Unless you've been in their Online/SE planning sessions (read: resources and time needed to accomplish the task), you have no idea what you're talking about.

Sales money isn't directly poured back into development cost. It's not like "Yay, we sold X amount of copies of Injustice, so we can buy/create tech for online play in MKX!"
