all the people you posted are classified as American American - unless Gabrielle union is straight from African, she (like most blacks) is mixed with something. Genetics work strangely.
also all of the people have "black features" yet you are claiming them to be mixed.

You're missing the point. All I'm trying to show is that Jacqui's features make her look like she's mixed race, rather than straight up, 100% "African American" by US definition. There is a distinct facial feature difference between the "full" African Americans that I posted, than the "half" African Americans.

I never once said that Cassie is not black, but at the same time her features make her look like she's of mixed race, not FULL AFRICAN AMERICAN, as defined above. Again, that doesn't mean she's not "black", but at the same time, she doesn't look fully "African American".

I don't care who Jacqui's mother is, just like I don't care who Takeda's mother is.
If she's not on the playable roster or as DLC, then her mother doesn't matter to me.

They showed Takeda's mother in the comic, before she got killed, so maybe the same applies for Jacqui's mother.
 
Yeah even I'd say Jacqui's mother isn't anyone important. She really only exists for the sake of Jacqui being born. Since her mother will make an appearance in the comics at some point like Shawn said, it might end up being Gemini but even then won't be of any significance, since it's just the comics people showing that they really are well acquainted with the history of MK.
 
Would be awesome if more people actually did provide speculations rather than get into race debates. I started the thread because I wanted to see who you guys thought the mother could be.
 
People saying either Jade or Tanya could be the mother are probably saying so just because they're among the few black-looking gals (to me Jade looks more like a Latina, but whatever), and we all know that in fiction, two people of the same non-white race are an automatic match, no matter their personalities, interests, or even one of them being an alien.

Why would Jade and Jax have anything going on? Their only interaction was in Jax's chapter when they fought. They hit each other, rather than hit ON each other. We saw Johnny and Sonya do both, but Jade and Jax never got flirty at all. If Jade can be Jacqui's mother, then so can Kitana.

Quite frankly, Stryker and Kabal are/were more likely to be in a romantic relationship than Jade and Jax.

Tanya as Jacqui's mother truly is absurd. Why couldn't it be Jataaka while we're at it?

Finally, just so we're clear: it is possible for a child from an interracial couple to resemble one parent more than another. Meaning, Jacqui's mother could be Asian or Native American.

With the information we have right now, there's only 3 real candidates. Sonya, Gem, or a random. Sonya is obviously unlikely, and rightfully should be. Gemini is a strong possibility because she is the only female that has been shown in the series history, outside of Sonya, to have romantic feelings for Jax. And of course, it could just be a random.

My guess is that she's an unspecified character... similar to Takada's mom. And why in the blue blazes is anyone thinking it even MIGHT be Sonya? The actual shit?

YOU BEAT ME TO IT! Seriously, I just came to post that exact thing. What if Jax adopts her and is single? What if Jacqui is an orphan due to the Outworld and Netherrealm Wars, and Jax, as a way to atone for what he did as a revenant, adopted her?

I actually really like that idea. If she's adopted it definitely makes her more interesting.
