Liu Kang and Johnny Cage have no where near the following of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, nor the iconic status.
To say otherwise is to be ignorant, and it's actually quite funny.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero ARE to MK what Ken and Ryu are to Street Fighter.
If you can't see that, then you're blind, and this conversation is over.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are 2 of the main reasons why LOTS of people flock to MK.
They are the 2 main icons.

@ Subz 711-Of all of the warriors earthrealm why would they choose Kuai Liang?? there are far more capable warriors. Including Liu Kang, the most powerful earthrealm warrior.

Because none of the other fighters have a connection to Sareena at all. In my scenario Sareena has to take Sub-Zero to Quan's inner sanctum after contusing him to be Bi-Han. It would make sense because he's a cyborg named Sub-Zero. The last time she heard of Sub-Zero it was Bi-Han. If some organs, and his skeleton are intact the inner sanctum could reverse the process. I imagine him stepping out of the inner sanctum with pieces of metal falling from him.

Im not saying Ermac would revive just Sub-Zero. If he revives them then all will be revived.

The Inner Sanctum is a GREAT explanation for reversing the cyborg process, but he's still among the dead MK9 warriors.

Im thinking their souls now act as their bodies. I mean all of their bodies are rotting decomposing flesh. They will all need new bodies.

Ermac just used their souls yo make new bodies in the old timeline didnt he? Also, Raiden fought a physical incarnation in the netherrealm which means some physical form of Kuai Liang is there.
 
Yeah, but Quan Chi also used sorcery to turn the warriors against Raiden, in MK9.
You make a good point about being bodies that are rotting decomposing flesh, though, maybe in a zombie type of way.

First off you make no sense. Scorpion and sub-zero are NOT the ryu and ken of anything regardless of their following. storywise Liu and Cage were and are the Ryu and Ken of MK.

1. Because they are protagonists that work together and fight for the survival of earth realm

2. Because neither blue nor yellow are heroes and do nothing of the sort. NRS it "trying" to make Sub-zero and Scorpion the equivalent of Ryu and Ken because they are trying to piggy back the success of street fighter 4, the best fighter out there. sales prove it.

CSZ can't return like that because there is nothing left to bring back to life. He is more Machine than man. Necromancy requires a body which CSZ doesn't have because he is no more than bones and wire.

They are re-writing Mortal kombat. We will never see Sub-zero again, at least not in the next MK. People will buy the game wether Sub-zero is in it or not.

He's not as important as you make him out to be. thats why all of the merchandise from MK9 showed him being killed. Sub-zero is finished and everything leading upto MK9 suggests it. Scorpion is the "only" MK icon. Sub-zero is just part of the supporting cast.

Do you want MK to sell big so we can have more MK games or not?

If the answer is yes, then you have to have Scorpion and Sub-Zero on the roster. If you omit them, MK will bust, and the franchise goes extinct. Would you sacrifice your own ego and personal roster preferences for the continued success of MK?
