Yes, it's the 3rd coming of KORE. If it weren't for MKvsDC I might have stuck around for the last 3 years, but I'm sorry, that game should never have happened. Thanks to the MK9 reboot to greatness (imo) I actually care about making some art again.

So anyway, here's my custom Cyber Sub-Zero:

I'm sure it's not what most of you envisioned when u read the title of my topic, but when I say custom I mean custom. I don't think I could actually manage a sprite of the real MK9 Cyber Subz because I'm pretty rusty right now. Regardless, that was never my intention. I was inspired by Cyrax' old alternate costume, and this post which I found through Google images:http://www.trmk.org/forums/showthread.php/15605-Cyber-Sub-Zero-Fake

I also wanted him to look like he fit in MK3, so I intentionally made as few changes to the original sprites' costumes as possible. The reason being, when I found out Cyber Subz was part of this new game I immediately remembered this:

I guess I wanted to redeem it.
 
Nice, the other fake CSZ model is epic also.
I know some people on a forum that do micro edits, IDK how to explain that better than posting a link: (googled the image, credit to whoever created it)

(its basicly using premade models and editing them or draw them yourself to make game/movie/sport characters)

Editing MK sprites seems similar to micro editing XD. Might try it some time even if I tried doing micro edits once and I failed :(
 
I was expecting a sprite similar to MK9's Cyber Sub Zero.

Don't think I hate it. It's actually pretty good. Although if you based it on Cyrax's Deadly Alliance Alternate, then I'd add some cyber-helmet thingamajig on his head.
 
Well the thing about that is I made his head mostly exposed because the Cyrax costume has more of a Robo-Cop feel, where as this has more of a Darth Vader feel which I was going for.



@ _Unknown_ : Yeah I seen them micro things. I'd say the difference between those and MK sprites is you can Frankenstein MK sprites and if you've got a good imagination you can save yourself a lot of time editing them.
 
I remember sketching some fatalities for cyber subby at one point. His aren't the best in the game.

I agree, not exactly how I envisioned CSZ but damn the details are awesome. Any more projects?

Yeah it has been a while Jinko. And thank you. Yeah I've become a stickler for making sure my sprites are more polished now. I was looking at the stuff I did back in '05 and realizing that it wasn't nearly as good as I once thought it was. Started noticing all kinds of glaring flaws.
