No, it was the White Lotus, the Brotherhood of Shadow, the Lin Kuei, the Black Dragon, and the Special Forces. The Shirai Ryu isn't one.

Drahmin died years before MK1, so I doubt it. Besides I remember fans like to debate that Drahmin is King Jerrod.
 
I was actually confused by the clan list, because the way they presented it sounds like every character will be considered in one of those clans for the purposes of online playing etc.
It wouldn't make sense to have characters who can't play for the clan system.

But I don't see where some of the characters fit in there. Is Scorpion going to be Brotherhood of Shadow due to his time serving Quan Chi? Is he White Lotus because he fights for Earthrealm now?
And the Outworld people like Kotal Kahn? What about Goro? He doesn't fit in any of those.

Looking forward to see how the clan thing works.
 
You choose your clan when you start the game. It's not a character by character thing. It's based on your account. It won't matter if you're using Scorpion or Cassie if you picked the Brotherhood of the Shadow. It'll change the theme of your menus and your actions online will help or hurt your clan of choice in their meta-game.
 
I really don't think that you will be bound to certain characters because of your faction..at this point I think a lot of people are looking into that feature to much.

Seems like all it does it change the look and layout of your game menus and add a little something to the competitive side of online play. Not much else.

haha lol. of course I didn't click on refresh. that's good to know. it would suck if I picked brotherhood and could only be a few characters.

I hope not to see that again, but it makes sense as to Scorpions MKX intro vs Raiden.

I think that when Scorpion and Takeda hunt down Raiden, Raiden tells him the truth about Quan Chi, hence why Scorpion says to Quan Chi "You betrayed me Quan Chi."
It's also possible that Quan Chi sent a demon to posses Forrest Fox and kill the Shirai Ryu.

Agreed.
I don't want to see the same MK4 crap all over again, but maybe if Scorpion finds out the truth behind Quan Chi, this will finally convince him to go after / kill Quan Chi.
 
I have the impression Scorpion already knows about Quan Chi's responsability.

If he was still in good relations with the sorcerer, he would still be his housemaid.

I think Scorpion has already completed his vengeance, IMO makes not sense at all that he is rebuilding his life at his will if, after Netherrealm War, that "evil" forces had lost, that he didn't discover the true killer of his family.

Maybe he did what I said: defeated, not killed Quan Chi.

And this demon seems something new, a big guy from other realm, a new realm we didn't know at this time.

Man, One Being has been shattered like glass.
 
I really wish we woud get animated series based on the comic eventually. Would love to see that Lin Kuei attack in motion.
 
Agreed. Animated series >>> Live action

Although the MKX costumes look much more practical now. Scorpion doesn't wear solid gold armor and Sub-Zero doesn't have slabs of steel on his forearms like MK9
 
MKX clothes are way more realistic. I hope female characters follow the same pattern.

You know, it's MORTAL kombat.

I would dress like going to war. Scorpion and Sub-Zero, for exemple, are dressed like warriors, that's nice.
