SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

...when that is just my prediction. But a lot of people echo that prediction as well, due to Chapter 12.

Which is people jumping at conclusions based on their gut, be them proved right or wrong afterwards. Just like those who are predicting that Reiko/Havik/Meat/Freddy will be revealed as the blood god because "x".

Let's keep discussing as that's what the forum is about and let us not fight over whoever is right as so far no one knows what will happen.

Then how do you know that Reiko and Havik will get beaten and possibly die?

He doesn't. It's his prediction, just like some are predicting that it means that they are bosses. So far no point of view has more weight than the other, really. They could be killed by Jax's giant boot next chapter or they could be saved for 25 years by aliens. We can't possibly know for sure what will happen next.

Ooohhh... Well, then I'm not worried. I thought he knew due to already having read it in the comic.

That's just an assumption on his part. They've set up a tournament and you know what happens to MK villains at the end of tournaments.
theincubuslord, Precisely what this man has said is what led to my prediction.

Forgive me all for including my prediction and making it appear as fact. Like I said, I was a bit taken back when the dude in the other thread (I forgot his username) made that thread, and everyone was all like omg no way, when I made that summary a few days ago for the community, which completely negates his claims.

I think there was a misunderstanding of events, so to speak. Some people didn't even notice it was the same thing from your summary being shared as a totally different point of view. For a minute I thought it was a new chapter.

Well, nothing in the comics (so far) negates that Reiko becomes the Blood Demon/God/Thingy... It reveals that Reiko and Havik have some plans about making Reiko into said thingy, but nothing about the actual outcome. It could still happen. I'm not saying it does, I don't know if it does, but I won't be so quick to jump to conclusions and say it will or won't happen.

However, I do think it would be cool if it did indeed happen, and it would fit with what has been said about the end boss. People already discussed that Reiko could be a possible end boss of the game, and now we have another reason to add to that point.

I just hope he will also become playable though.

We can't know, but:

-No hints re: Reiko and/or Havik being in the game;

-No mention of Reiko in any of the Outworld scenes dealing with Mileena;

-Reiko would be a tyrannical ruler, he would actually bring a dictatorial sense of order to the realms, and that's the last thing Havik wants (this was his way of thinking re: Onaga as well). It is not in Havik's best interests to help Reiko, so we can infer that Havik is manipulating the shit out of Reiko and will do everything in his power to prevent an actual ascension;

-This is 15 years into the story, and 10 years later Kotal hasn't been ousted and Mileena is leading the rebellion, so where exactly does Reiko fit?

-Reiko is going to kick a lot of ass in the comic (according to Shawn Kittelsen). Now, what usually happens to bad guys after they've kicked a lot of ass? Do they just keep kicking ass? Or does someone finally step in and put them down?

Things have looked terrible for Reiko ever since he started telling Mileena that Goro is plotting to overthrow her. He's too fringe a character to be that ambitious and get away with it. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. :( He should still have a really good chance at DLC, though.

Well, hopefully that will be determined in the game instead of the comic.

We know that Reiko is holding Cassie and Jacqui hostage for Johnny Cage and Sonya to participate in the tournament (functionally; even if that wasn't his intent). And we know that they're rescued, because MKX. And we know that Johnny Cage and Sonya survive, because MKX.

If you have a theory that could possibly explain the tournament going well for literally everybody participating in it, including Reiko, I'd love to hear it.

It's just funny that people think just because there have been no signs of Havik and Reiko in the game that they cannot be boss and or sub-boss. Guess what, the NRS guys could troll us with the boss being obvious from the trailer thing and it makes more sense they keep the boss under wraps than Shinnok or Quan Chi being the boss for example. Shinnok as blood god would still be cool, but I rather the boss is unannounced right now. So for me, the 4 candidates left are: Havik, Liu Kang, Reiko & Shang Tsung (he is presumed dead, but not confirmed dead). Havik could end up losing the tournament with Shang Tsung entering the picture like you think you can just take my island lol.

Also, the good guys obviously win the tournament but who's to say they kill the boss? Someone can step up, like Shang Tsung, before anybody gets killed. Reiko and or Havik could flee after the last battle, who knows? Maybe Reiko gets beat and Havik goes underground.

I'd rather wait and see what actually happens. If I make a theory and it turns out not to be like that, it'll just give people a reason to gloat. Hell, even me wanting to see Reiko succeed in this is enough for some people to go "HAHA, told you so!" if he doesn't. So no, I'm not going to concoct a theory.

Did they say it was going to be a tournament on that island? I thought they just took them there.. Did I miss the text where it clearly states they're trying to set up a tournament? I didn't get that sense at all.

Is that it? But even from the comic, we still hardly know that much of him. All we know is that he is using Mileena to get somewhere/something. We don't know his true motives or anything. :s

His motives are (apparently) not very interesting, he's just a power hungry ass clown. What makes him interesting is that he's smart enough to be a good general and be able to manipulate others (in this case he's got Mileena wrapped around his finger), and this makes him scary enough that Kotal Kahn considers Reiko a legitimate threat, in the same breath that he dismisses Mileena outright.

To me, he was just a bland insignificant character like Meat, Movado, Hotaru, Darrius, Havik, Taven, Molloch etc. He's more significant than them but still not that significant to be a playable character. Maybe its just me, I dont get the interest in him. There's nothing unique about him that interests me. I get why people want Kenshi, Rain and Baraka, because they are unique and have interesting fighting styles but Reiko seems generic and boring. Is it just me? Is it because he is a fresh face into the scene?

Most MKX characters have gotten pretty significant revamps, so saying I want Reiko in the game doesn't mean I want literally what I saw in the comic in the game. It just means I see lots of potential. From the little we know of him, Reiko is a dangerously smart man. There aren't a lot of dangerously smart men in the MK world who aren't also sorcerers. He breaks that stereotype. Awesome. With a redesigned look and a cool moveset (expert weapon user?), he's ripe to carve out a niche and cement himself as a staple in the series. IMO.

Very interesting view, I can relate to your points as I feel kinda the same about Erron Black as you do with Reiko. I don't know much about him but his design looks badass and I also see alot of potential in him, although we did see a little weaker side to him in the comic with Kano.

Plus Reiko wouldn't seem so smart if he gets played by Havik now ;)

You make valid points but we'll have to wait and see
