One of the points of the Joker is that he is kind of well presented, kind of a parody of the 'normal' man. His hair is supposed to be neat, and his suit clean, but the colours show that he's mental.
His fighting prowess depends on the writer, I like to think that he is a skilled fighter. After all, he needs to be. One thing that everyone agrees on, however, is that he's very agile.

im aware that his white face is permanent cuz i grew up with that kind of joker but if MK wants a grittier game i suggest they make him look like the movie one. plus i think it would be cool if they honored ledger by doing that.

Also, there's a theory in Morrison's Arkham Asylum that Joker recreates himself each day. So one day he could be a good fighter, the next a weakling. It all depends on what he wants.

Bottom line: The Joker is an ass kicker. MK vs. DC wouldn't be complete without him.

Interesting point, but who's smarter overall? Definitely not Joker lol, psychotic and creative in a twisted way? Yeah, but I think Lex's overall intellect would make him a better foe IMO

@Ghost, although I agree with your view, it won't happen because DC told Midway that when making the DC characters, DC explicitely told Midway NOT to make the costume designs similar to "any movies" like Batman, Supes, Cats for example, Bats looks more comic like as will all the DC characters. Boon said it in one of the interviews the past month or so, that DC told them to "stay away from movie designs and keep it true to comic designs" so chances are however Joker looks in the comics(for the most part) is how he'll look. Just wanted to let you guys know that, it's not up to Midway(they're making/creating the characters graphic wise yes) but it's DC's choice and need their approval. I'm a little surprised by DC's part since like Ghost said, this game is dark, nasty etc yet they want to stay true to comic designs I guess.

What does it matter who's smarter? Smart may matter in the story mode but in terms of a good character the Joker is most definitely a better hand-to-hand kombatant than Lex Luthor. Luthor has only EVER faced anybody in hand-to-hand while he's either armored or wearing kryptonite gauntlets.

Yeah, and he got, like, cancer as a consequence for doing so.
 
As much as Le is one of the best villians in any comic, he has no place as an actual fighter in this game, especially if were talking only 10-12 characters per side.

Lex Luthor is just not a fighter--he gets others to dirty their hands with that. He is more a behind-the-scenes strategist type.
 
How do you guys say he has no place for fighting? Just because he does not partake in the hand-to-hand combat usually? He is a supervillian, and one of the best ever. They have to include him in the game.

He has potential to be one of the darkest and most popular characters in the game. Because of The Dark Knight recently debuting, The Joker has just generated millions of fans to his character. How many more people will be interested in this game because of the movie and because of The Joker. The movie was amazing by the way and The Joker made the movie what it is.

I do not think for a second they even questioned whether or not The Joker will be in the game. They only questioned what sick and twisted specials and fatalities to do for him. They will be using him as one of the main characters to show off once this game finally hits commercials and closer to release date, just as DC Universe Online did with their game in their trailer.

My guess is they have not finished him yet, and were waiting for the movie to take some ideas.

Good points, but are you seriously gonna throw away a roster spot for him? They wasted one, IMO, with Catwoman, but as super bad Lex IS, he just doesnt belong in the game as a fighter. But that doesnt mean he cant be in the game, maybe story wise, but not a spot of the roster.
 
Haha, I love how nobody actually read that post. Jeary is talking about the JOKER there. Not Lex. Lex isn't IN the Dark Knight remember? I doubt Jeary even saw that we were talking about Lex in the last few posts.
 
I just kindof look at it in terms of popularity. The Joker, to DC, is comparable to Sub-Zero or Scorpion from MK. He is one of their most popular characters and even if he sits there and gets the crap kicked out of him by all the MK and DC guys, DC fans would go crazy if he was not in the game.

Also he is Batman's most popular Villian, so i think he has to be in just because of that, as well as Lex Luther for Superman. They are both legendary DC Characters. I agree, I'd rather see DC should put in their crazy awesome bad guys that can fight and have sweet specials, but they have to put in their big names first and The Joker and Lex are at the top of that list.

If they were going to put in a Superman villain, I'd rather it be Amazo, or Brainiac. More bang for the buck, in my opinion.

I know we'll get Joker, Wonder Woman & Green Lantern, but we need DC villains tthat will kill, because I want to see DC Fatalites.:) Doomsday, Bizarro....I dont care. Thats all. :mrgreen:

I think they both suck honestly with hand to hand against say someone like Sub or Scorp or most MK or DC characters. Joker is psychotic, evil, twisted and has little gimmicky weapons but he's not a fighter. Lex I'm saying since he's smarter would be a better foe for someone, he has had power suits you know. What's joker going to use? Squirting flower with acid, buzzer or a gun?.....lol I just can't picture Joker in this game, I won't be surprised if he makes the cut because he's "the joker" but that still doesn't change the fact that he's not a fighter.
