Same here. I think I have more of a problem with people saying that he never died more than guessing he's the end boss. Reasons why is just, granted that I see him overcoming great odds, but him getting electrocuted by an Elder God is something I really don't see him surviving.

I could see it happening.
Not the whole "You can see him breathing afterwards" theory, but I can definitely see him being in a coma because of it.
He's the MK Champion and at 1 point was Raiden's Champion, after all.

While it is a possibility, I really just cannot see him surviving after that. Maybe he could have is "fluck you" to Raiden before he initially passes over, but I dunno. Seeing that scene again just doesn't speak "Liu survived that!"

Ohhh, sorry my bad. I just got a little confused.

Also yes, it is nice to end the "Liu didn't die" thing. It just didn't seem plausible for him to survive after being simultaneously burnt and electrocuted and especially since he was just kinda left there till Raiden beat Shao Kahn.

Not to mention, I doubt Sonya and Cage were doing anything for him after getting flown several feet by Kahn.

Time will tell, but yes, I do see it both ways, believe me. I do feel part of me saying that Liu probably has like 1% life left after Raiden teleports and Liu might get some nice words... again... to Raiden before finally passing.

Well, it seemed plausible, IMO.
I also found it a bit strange that Raiden would teleport Liu's corpse, along with Sonya, Johnny and himself.
That, to me, hinted at Raiden trying to revive him (aka Zombie Kang again if he was dead, or trying to fully heal him, if he was alive).

It's confirmed now that he did die, though.
 
Can someone explain to me like I'm 5, how there is an unlockable character? Since when was that a thing? Cause as I understand it, we now know the whole roster.

It's looking more and more likely that Shinnok is the unlockable character.
It wouldn't make any sense for him to be playable from the start.

Ed Boon said that there was an unlockable character after beating MKX story mode, which debunks Liu Kang and Shinnok (IMO) as unlockable characters, since I HIGHLY doubt that NRS would spoil their own unlockable character in various trailers.

My guess is that the unlockable character in MKX is Fujin, Havik, Reiko or someone else.

Ed Boon or someone from NRS said we unlock a character after beating Story Mode.

Here's hoping for someone awesome because I would not find it all rewarding to unlock Liu Kang last. I didn't even find it all that rewarding unlocking him last in Deception.

In MK9 playing through story mode gave us Quan Chi and Cyber Sub Zero. So someone on twitter asked Ed Boon if there will be an unlockable story mode character for MKX, and he said that there would be. The trophy/achievement leak also has two for finishing story mode, one for half way and one for finishing it completely. Hence even though we know the roster, we could have one (or two) unlockables.

Thank you, everyone for clearing that up for me. I had no idea. So what you all are guessing is that the unlockable character/s aren't anyone that we already know is in the game and on the roster?
