Shao Kahn interactive statue in Krypt -- what is it?

I've also noticed that timed gold chest with no price on it, or ability to open. I assumed it was a glitch/bug, but no idea. I wonder if it's been reported.

Kitana's ??? costume is Dark Empress Kitana, which you can unlock by playing the living and premium towers.

Shao Kahn won't be playable. He is dead, buried under concrete, and his armour and weapons are in Quan Chi's fortress. Your denial is admirable, though. ;)

Theres a total of 4 gold timed chests that I cant open. The one shown a few posts back, two behind the blood waterfalls where you use reptiles claw and another where you use ermacs hover.
 
I honestly didn't realized that you needed 10,000 coins for the Komidogu which before I HAD to look it up, thought it was somewhere really well hidden. With that Kahn statue, also didn't realize that you needed a specific time to use Raiden's staff. I just thought you approached it once you got it and bam, it did something.

Eh, that's that only item I thought was dumb in getting better that I needed to spend coins to get. But I really enjoyed the duck out of this crypt. Seriously hope they do it again for future games! But there's nothing that's gonna happen with Shao Kahn in this game. Notta.
 
Yeah, it's just like the hidden chests. There are certain rooms you can only access at a certain time. There's one in the Spider room where you use the gem, too. You can tell it's one of these areas because you'll see a circle of gravel on the ground. It'll populate with some effect (probably the MK symbol...I don't recall) when it's "primed" for use.
 
After using the gambling tower approximately ten times, I can no longer interact with it? Is anyone else having this problem.

Right now it is not to annoying because I have about a third of the krypt to open, but after that all the rest of the "player card" and emoticons are in the gambling tower.

I doubt Shao Kahn is buried anywhere.

That said, there's no actual puzzle in the Krypt, the message is clearly referring to the fact that, indeed, you can interact with the statue later. That's all there is to the message. The last time I saw someone wasting too much time on a "puzzle", it turned into the GTA V cult led by an insane guy called Brian.
 
That big Shao Khan statue is a teleport to another room with expensive chests. There is a chest in there that disappears and reapers so quickly I don't get a chance to open it.

You can only use that khan Statue at certain times.

Those weird chests could hold the secret that Ed Boon was talking about.
 
Basically it's a nod to Shao Kahn's treasure from the old games and can be interacted with at a certain time just like some of the boxes.

It's to the right of screen (left of Kahn's statue) and keeps appearing and disappearing, but without any way to open it...! :???:

How do I unlock Kitana's 4th outfit (from the top down in Kollection menu), the one with the "???" next to it instead of a name? More DLC...?

By doing 5 Living Towers. That's what I did.

...I don't get why people think stuff like this would be a glitch. It is CLEARLY something that is related to the time displayed in the corner. Why would they even display the time in the first place if it wasn't relevant to The Krypt? That is why you'll see chests appear and disappear, and certain areas of the Krypt only be accessible for limited amounts of time. There's something in the spider caves that is very similar to the "limited access" Shao Kahn statue gate.
