He meant ESL season 2 not season 2 of DLC. It's really likely that we'll be seeing more though after this

'Seasons' are all the rage nowadays and if WB think they can milk the franchise (which they clearly can), it's far more cost-effective to leave a skeleton crew on MKX and keep fleecing people for DLC, while letting NRS concentrate of rehashing Injustice or whatever.

That, and the game is still incomplete and will appear at Evo thusly -- hardly the showcase you want for the game. Next year SFV will be here and even less people will care about a near-year-old MKX... UNLESS it's getting regular updates and content, thereby keeping it in the spotlight.

It's only logical business sense to take the game into a second season... even if the gameplay is kinda sucky.
 
I hope this bodes well for future kontent. With the game being as successful as it has been, and the current Kombat Pack characters getting such a positive reception, I very much doubt NRS/WB will look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak. I suppose it's just a case of how many new characters we get, and who.

So many characters coming to mind, so I'll try to keep it short:

Li Mei
Jataaka
Sheeva
Sareena
Havik
Drahmin/Moloch
Revenant Stryker
Dexter Morgan
Jack Torrance (from The Shining)
 
For a kombat pack 2, Fujin is a must, it was an insult not having him in the game straight up. Reiko would be awesome too. Personally I'd love to see a revamped Kai and a new female tarkatan character considering Baraka is ruled out.
 
I think they're talking about the tournament, but regardless, I'll post my thoughts.

For characters, I would either like to see a Comic Pack (highly unlikely) of:

Havik
Reiko
Skarlet

or Story Mode pack of:

Rain
Li Mei/Sareena
Fujin

The final can be a guest character. The characters I want most are Alien with Sonya having a Ripley skin or Freddy Krueger. Yes, for Freddy, I'm well aware they said "no DLC character repeats", but it sort of bothers me that you cannot have Freddy vs. Jason OR Alien vs. Predator. I would even be OK with Ash (Evil Dead), if they gave 3 characters deadite skins.
