Yes to Sonya. I want to see if she still has any form of a rivalry with Kano after all these years, I want to see her interact with Cassie, and I want people to shut up with the "Cassie's replacing Johnny and Sonya! Boo hoo!" shit already.


. . . And bring back the bicycle kick!

I want to see what Johnny and Sonya's pre-match dialogue with Cassie and towards each other would be like.
A part of me also wants to see what 50-year old Sonya and Johnny would look like.

Oh, man.
I TOTALLY forgot about the Upward Bicycle Kick (even though it was in her MK9 X-Ray).
Yeah, I'd like to see Sonya bring back the Upward Bicycle Kick in MKX, along with her MK1 Ring Blast, MK1 Leg Grab and MK1 Square Wave Punch.

Getting killed off in the story =/= not playable, though, according to MK9.
If that was the case then Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Jax, Sindel, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung, Cyber Sub-Zero, Jade, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Smoke and Kabal shouldn't be playable in MK9.
 
Of course for Sonya!

Nobody is going to put her in the game with the same moves of Cassie, c'mon.

Most of the klassics are konfirmed. The ones that haven't been, are highly probable.

There is no reason to cut her.
 
I really don't think NRS would put in two blonde, female, soldier-type characters in the same game. She's guaranteed to be in story-wise, but I'm unsure about if she is in gameplay-wise.

Logic aside, I definitely give a yes to Sonya!

They already did. Boon already let it slip that Cassie will be able to perform Fatalities on relatives, which leaves no doubt to the roster status of both Johnny Cage and Sonya Cage.

On top of that, the German mag already leaked those two and Liu Kang.

Anyone wanna wager a week's worth of TRMK posting privileges that I'm wrong on all 3 characters?

100% agreed with everything Tarkatan Trash and Araknyd_Commander say about Sonya and Johnny being confirmed for MKX!

YES to Sonya! YES! YES! YES! YES! SONYA!

I've been a big fan of Sonya since the original MK1 game. Elizabeth Malecki and Kerri Hoskins were so beautiful as Sonya. Her character was inspired by Cynthia Rothrock. I've seen many interviews on media, Via Twitter, IGN, Giant Bomb, etc. I know Sonya and Johnny were pretty in the game. Cassie is my favorite female fighter. I love both blondes!

Why do people say "We already have Cassie on the roster?" In the Kombat Tether interview, Ed Boon said Cassie is not going to be a version of Sonya. Cassie's Cartwheel (backward) has different properties to Sonya's. She doesn't have Sonya's the Kiss of Death, only she uses a fire spray in her X-Ray. Also she never has Ring Toss, Leg Grab, Flying Punch and Upward Bicycle Kick from her mother's moves. The moves she does borrows from her parents don't even act the same way. Her parents will different than Cassie's when they are playable. I don't care what anyone say.

Sonya is apparently based on her age, her different age will be three variations, how she will fight differently throughout the years. I really believe she is going to be playable on the main roster. We've seen with Kano being an older version of himself (he changes from black haired to grey haired), be ready to see older versions of Sonya and Johnny. I'm very excited to see how story Sonya and Johnny are an important role. I would love to see them to be shown together (the Johnny/Sonya" relationship develop) and I really would love to see a kiss just to confirm it. Tarkatan Trash just hopes to see them to be shown sex.

There are a lot, a lot of the Sonya fans who are excited to see her when they will announce Sonya to reveal. I have a feeling NRS is saving her for late reveal. I can't wait to see what she looks like and her variations!! YAY!
 
HELL FREAKING NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........ but she does need a cameo considering she survived in MK9.
She was pretty good in MK9 which is a huge compliment from me because the last time i liked her was MK4...

I just don't think she needs to be playable in MKX. This would be a great opportunity to establish NPC's relevance within story modes for future MK games.

NO for Sonya. She should have a big part in cutscenes and what not, but seriously, I just don't think she's necessary as a playable character. Also, she's boring and uninteresting. I don't like her and from what invented seen so far I don't like her daughter either. And yeah yeah she's confirmed or whatever, but still, if it were up to me I'd say no.
 
Yes for Sonya. Sonya was a beast in mk9. She was my one of my favs in mk3-mkt, but couldn't get into her in 9. Want her in tho. With the upward bicycle kick as a special. Pls lol.

Cassie is already konfirmed to have her own unique moveset, this according to McCarron himself (who played as Cassie during E3). Movesets will not be an issue with Sonya's roster spot.

Considering MKX may very well be klassic earthrealm warriors farewell game, i vote Yes for Sonya.

You know with all the planetary invasions they may not have found the time to get married.
 
NO Sonya. With Cassie already confirmed, we can do better than Sonya. I do want her to be involved with the story in some way, though.

What does Cassie have to do with anything?
She has none of her mother's moves.

If Frost can make it in, and she had exact Sub-Zero clone moves (Ice Slide and Ice Puddle), then I have no problem with Sonya (who is her own character, with her own moves) being playable in MKX.

Why wouldn't they give her her own moves?
She had her own moves in MK9, and if NRS can revamp Kenshi to be different from Ermac, then they can surely differentiate Sonya and Cassie, especially when the latter has none of the former's moves.

Well i could be wrong but i think a lot of people aren't exactly worried about cassie being similar to sonya in the respect of gameplay...
I'm assuming that there is a large percentage within this group that has shown disinterest for one or the other being in MKX due to the fact they believe that Cassie will be a similar character to her mother...(again i will repeat not gameplay-wise) but rather her looks, personality etc. Which is understandable.
Personally i can kind of relate to that.. I want Sonya to be in this game... but i don't really feel that she needs to be playable in MKX. I believe she can still be involved at some capacity as an NPC and still be relevant to the story.
I can understand if hardcore Sonya fans disagree though.

If that was the case then Frost would have never been in the original MK, since she also has a very similar look to Sub-Zero (costume-wise)

The only thing that I see that Cassie has similar to Sonya (appearance-wise), is her blonde hair.
Cassie's suit is more conservative than anything that Sonya ever wore, and in her Spec Ops variation she uses guns, missiles and a baton, which actually remind me more of Stryker.
