Roster Speculation

Liu's backstory will be, after MK9 he barely survived and as a result of Raiden's counter attack he is now disfigured and an alcoholic. Who sits outside the Shaolin Temple and speaks of his past as Earthrealm's champion and how he saved the the realm twice. The kids show him pity and bring him food and supplies because of his past legend.
 
Bbblp and Tarkatan trash relax you Liu Kang fans are so easily provoked. Don't take my jabs at Liu seriously, I'm just trolling you guys. If Liu is in or out, it makes no difference to me and he is the fan favorite.
 
The stream show off 7 character slots left. Who do you think is left? My guesses:

1. Sonya
2. Kenshi
3. Jax
4. Erron Black
5. Liu Kang
6. Baraka
7. Jacqui

I do think Shinnok is a unlockable which is what Ed Boon hinted a while back. Shinnok is likely in the same spot as Goro and the other DLC characters similar how Cyber Sub-Zero was in MK9.
 
^If Baraka is regular and Shinnok is unlockable then that means the regular cast is ONLY MK9 characters + 8 new ones (half of them are descendants), which is really safe, last Summer I really assumed they would be more radical...

That said, leaving Baraka for one of the last would be weird, considering he survived MK9 and would be one of the most obvious returning characters...

It would be stupid for shinnok to be unlockable at the end if you fight him in the FIRST chapter. And baraka is not in as playable. Goro is where he will be when you put the game in.

that's not the point. I know he will get released but when you unlock someone its usually a surprise and something you're not expecting like cyber sub zero. Why would they make you unlock someone you already see and fight against at the very beginning over story mode. Liu kang is being kept secret for a reason. Because hes being unlocked at the end. If shinnok was that hidden he wouldn't have even been shown yet.

Quan Chi was unlockable at the end of story mode and you fought him a few times during it.

thank you what i been trying to say sure might fight him at the beging but you know he going to come back afterward and after you beat for the last time you will prbally unlock him

Correct. But you didn't fight him early on you fought him a few chapters in. And nrs wasn't advertising him publicly before release. Only reason people knew he was in was due to a leak. If it wasn't for the leak he would be a SURPRISE. Shinnok is not a surprise.

Oh come on. Quan Chi was not a surprise. Leak or no leak. People called that sh** early on. I remember because I protested heavily against the very thought.

he was a surprise. No other 3d era character was in but him. No one knew he was in for sure if it wasn't for that leak.
