I still think 28 characters seems about right given how Ed Boon mention the roster being a similar size to MK9.

There is a disconnect here. Some of those aren't going to make the cut.

OR

The roster is bigger than people think. Boon has said that this game has either "the most" new characters, or per the video Greyjoy post where Boon waffles a bit, second most compared to DA.
Well, that puts it at 8-10 new characters. So we should have between 4-6 new characters to go. That alone makes that list implausible.

OR

Boon is just completely fully of shit.

I think Shinnok will likely end up being playable and could be a mini sub boss similar how Shang Tsung was in MK9. I doubt we will see Shinnok back as a main boss again since Ed Boon admits that he wishes that he was never the main boss in MK4 since MK is known for having big and scary bosses.

26 spots - Goro and random select , and yeah there will be +4 post launch but only 2 of them will be MK characters.

That list is garbage. The four new characters and everyone else returning?

At this rate they could have just re-released MK9 with a few more characters added on and saved themselves a lot of time.

I'm starting to think all the MK9 characters are coming back... or at least the core characters. Sonya, Johnny, Jax, Liu Kang, ect. You know, the MK1 and 2 roster with a few post mk3 characters. I dunno. It's really bothering me that we see two rows of 12 in the select screen. Are we going to have to expect maybe 3 rows of 12 when the game drops? 36 character slots? That seems really high and the select screen now seems really DONE. So... that's unnerving to say the least. If it's really going to be majority MK9 characters, that might really force me to consider waiting for a steam sale.
