@Jade: I liked her sub level, It gave me MGS nostalgia
Here are some of my Mercenarie's Tips:
Mercenaries
There are 2 different ways to play and it depends on your goal. If you're going for world records. You have to play a specific way which is much more difficult. But I'm just gonna go over how to get Rank A or S so costumes are easy. I'll cover DUO but if you play solo the rules still apply.
Urban Chaos:
Both players should team up getting time bonuses. It's 6 in total. One person covers one side of the street. And the other person covers the other side. There are two in the main area. one person head up the stairs and the other person head for the ground floor one near the double decker bus near the border of the stage.
First wave is super easy. Just face shot, melee them all to death, to get that +5 seconds. Stay near eachother so you can pick up ammo for eachother's kills.
Don't use quick shot on normal zombies unless they have a weapon in hand like an axe/torch. It's not worth the stamina because you won't kill them with your melee. you'll just knock them on the ground then you'll have to face stomp them and you waste 3 bars of stamina for that. Keep an eye out. Let your partner keep the chain going if your at 1 bar of stamina and just run in circles or shoot some in the head for your partner.
Once this wave is just about over. The fire-fighters will start rushing in. Get a combo bonus. Have on player run over and get it. the person not getting it, needs to string out the fire fighter kills until the combo bonus is hit. Once it's hit you can just shoot the backpacks, to get high combo bonuses.
When you run into dogs just quick shot them. 1 bullet kills them and quick shot locks on pretty well for you.
After them is the annoying armored dudes. They come at you kind of slow after the firefighters so string out the last couple 2. And have the other play run to the other side of the map away from the place you can climb up a ladder to get on top of the double decker bus. And spray the first solder you see in the legs. No poitn in risking losing your combo as sometimes by the time you find one of these guys your combo is blinking. use an explosive if you have to.
Then continue on and head shot/knock down/face stomp them all. It's the best way to get that extra 5 seconds. Even though it takes to bars of fatigue. If you get to one bar just start killing them with bullets until you're recharged to 3.
shortly after projectile zombies start coming out and it's just slightly important to note they tend to have more HP than the original zombies at the start. Don't get hit by their vomit I know this is a given but you spend so much time shaking off the acid effect, that you can lose combos because of this. Don't rely on your partner to cover for you for all your mistakes. al it takes is them getting grabbed and you getting puked on and you drop the combo.
Keep melee killing these guys by headshots>Melee for 1 hit kills.
shortly after is where the bloodshots come out. There is like 9+ of them running around. the person with the biggest bad weapon should take them out. Aka magnum/grenade launcher/C4. The other person's responsibility is to keep the combo going on regular guys awhile avoiding being hit by Bloodshots. If he can he should help shoot some blood shots with his big guns as well. HE just needs to keep an eye on the combo and change priorities toa weaker zombie to make sure the combo stays alive. I can't tell you how many times I tried to save combos on bloodshots and when I think they're about to die. They aren't :\
This is the hardest time to keep a combo IMO. They jump like rabid dogs so you have to constantly move. Which is why explosives work so well because they wll surround you quickly.
Same goes for the Fat guys. You should be able to double team one fast enough to keep a combo going just after a fresh zombie kill. Using your big boy weapons. If it starts blinking and he's not dead yet. kill a normal zombie real quick.
you and your partner need to be really good at not getting hit. Being put in dying status almost always garantee's a combo loss. And getting grabbed when a death needs to occur can make you lose a combo. The way killing them with melee works sometimes you'll slightly and slowly drift away from eachother even though you're not intending to. You're just going where the zombie kills lead you. And you never know when seperated whether or not your partner has any mobs around him so getting grabbed could make you lose the combo.
Don't be afraid to waste bullets to save combos. Even if it means wasting a big boy gun on a normal zombie.
Be sure to string out(aka wait a bit between kills) kills when the numbers look low around you. If you're becoming overwhelmed don't worry about stringing out kills just face shot/melee them until it becomes low numbers. The time it takes to kill a zombie with a melee almost cancels out the time you make back. So killing zombies in a slow manner such as spamming melee kills. Is time-cost nuetral.
Another strat you can do while the zombie count is low. or medium. Is let one player kill them. the other just stands as back up incase he is grabbed or can't find someone quick enough. you kill one near yourself.
I'll update one for the Seel Beast later. That one is probably the easiest to get A or S rank. But you gotta know where to move and what to do at certain times. The mercenaries purposely give you low enemies at times so when you kill to quickly you'll lose chain, and if you're in the wrong area during the wrong wave. The mobs take forever to get to you.
