Reptile's Acid Puke Fatality!

Wait... What the hell was that? The whole acid puking part was totally pointless.

Would have been better to just puke in his throat and cause his insides to liquify and maybe causing the guy to vomit up all his guts, causing his stomach area to collapse in and his veins to turn greenish black as if he'd been horribly poisoned.

Talk about stomach ulcer. lol The victim's entire body should have melted. Better yet, Kung Lao should've pooped out the acid, making his legs melt. ;-)

I don't know about you guys, but I thought that was a badass fatality. I mean he rips out his acid ridden stomach, and you can see the acid spraying out of his (Kung Lao's) mouth before he collapses. This is better than I thought it was gonna be. And this is not even the finished product! Pretty damn brutal fatality. And it looks like shit on that video, I really want to see this in HD. DAMN! :)

That was really lame, but Hec just said in a recent interview that they're not finished with (some of) the fatalities, so this one could easily be refined.

OMG wtf happend......he shudda just continued untill the body melted its like the MK team are being very lazy with these fatalities it makes me worried that they may be taking it easy with other aspects of the game like gameplay and presentation

Sound's cool, but I am going to wait for the game to watch Fatalities. But the sound of Acid Puke. Make's me want the game out now!

I have been off and on this site for 5 years, this quote made me finally want to register and log on. Would you be more worried about Netherrealm taking it east on the fatalities (that truly do no matter) or the gameplay and presentation?

Now this makes no sense if you are trying to bring MK to a legitimate fighting scene. I would rather the team spend all the team on gameplay mechanics and depth then any superficial fatality to porn out on. I would rather have respect then nonsense. Fatalities should be rewarding ala blazblue/guilty gear (as astral heats).

My opinion is MK needs to rise above, and not be a gimmick.

I feel the same way. Fatalities were originally a hidden ADDITION to the fighting game, but now it's been taken to the point where a large portion of the fanbase comes for the finishers. Don't get me wrong, i think they're great. I love to see the brutal and stylish kill-moves that always seem to leave a grin on my face. Now, I'm starting to loathe the fact that people would rather see 10 minute fatalities than balanced and competitive play.

However, this mortal kombat is more than a step in the right direction. The gameplay is looking awesome and they seem sincere about the fact that MK should be playable at a competitive level. Not only that, but the fatalities seem short and sweet, without lacking that original 'flavor'. If some people want to pout over it, i say so be it.

Welcome back, Mortal Kombat.

WOW...um really lackluster! He couldve kept spitting acid for a tad bit longer and as the they move in circles in agony as their body burns Reptile should have grabbed their intestines from their back as he hold the opponent up with his arm through their chest showcasing their intestines to the player!

Well said. There are a few members here who really don't seem to understand what it will take to make MK the respectable fighter it can be.

Thank you Hansplusmatic and Elks, people finally know what we're talking about. With the senior members, I want to bring you a new idea of MK being serious, not a cartoon. Where the depth only gets deeper if you can dig far enough. We are talking counting frames. Sadly in this state no one counts frames but know how to B,F,D,F, LP (Barakas fatality ala MKII).

I have seen the gameplay of MK9, and as much of a witness I am, I'm excited to see it return to what is and what it was. If I want to talk fatalities serious, I would consider them as earned per match. That would be glorious compared to SPAMMING BUTTON SPAMMING BUTTON< Here's a fatality.

What do you think of in game fatalities?

You guys say MK9 shouldn't be gimmicky and stuff but you know i don't see anything wrong with saying something is wrong with a fatality. It doesn't mean people are looking forward to the fatalities more than the gameplay, in UMK3 I don't even do fatalities in competitive play but vs the CPU I do. I think it's more like, if they are going to put fatalities in the game people want them to be top notch and there is nothing wrong with that. I want good fatalities as well and the Reptile fatality that I saw wasn't good.
Just like when people first saw the Kitana fatality, some liked it some said it was too simple, some said "oh but you have to pay attention and look closer" back in the 90s you didnt have to look closer. The MK2 fatalities stood out, they were vicious there wasn't any looking close or paying attention to see that they were good fatalities.

I think most of the fatalities I've seen are pretty awesome. I think we've seen maybe 12 total completed and a glimpse of Sub-Zero's spine rip. Out of all of those the only ones I don't like that much are Cyrax's net fatality, cause it just looks cheap and the body doesn't fall apart like it should... and this new acid one is sorta meh too. The others I've been pretty impressed by, even if some like Scorpion's and Cyrax's slicer one seem a bit redundant. I just hope Scorpion's second fatality is the Toasty! we all know and love.

Most people who dislike the fatality seem to think he just rips out the innards, but if you look they're actually melting away from the acid hitting them. Needs to be refined, but it could look really amazing.

True, to each their own. If MK wanted to held in the same light as other fighters, I believe this time around for this entry, MK should focus on the gameplay. Taking the depth as deep as it can go. So while your're fighting you can find hole and the opponents style to come out on top.

With the extended mechanics and technicalities, fatalities should represent the 'maturing' of this iteration. BTW, the reptile is pretty slick I thought, just have to look 'closer'. Haha.
