Reptile makes me sad.

He has been talking trash about Sub in a bit of threads now...

I feel that Reptile variations are a bit of uninspired and rehashed.

To touch on the topic again for a sec, imo the big problem with Reptile this game isn't his costumes, it's his variations. They seem so uninspired and useless to me. Three activated powerups that use the same command? That's it?

The variations are clearly the bigger problem, yes. But lets not forgot how dreadful his design has been for what feels like forever now. lol

It's just that bad, imo. They turned him into a Spider Man villain. I seriously miss the days where he appeared Human most of the time. It was far more interesting.

Reptile was always a character that I always thought had so much potential to be awesome that they never capitalized on. I think his design in this is way better than the last game because it looks more vicious, but still not anything that I'm impressed with. They seem like they half assed most things about him. His variations, lack of story and even his fatalities are obviously very rushed. I was disappointed to see that his acid puke/head eating fatality was so lackluster, especially compared with other people's fatalities. Along with that, how many times does he have the same non cannon arcade ending with him reuniting with his race? It's old and useless if it's not actually gonna happen. They never even addressed that vendetta in the story mode. He's just kinda there.

On the subject of Ermac, I think it's kinda cool that they went into detail with him being a rotting corpse cause it makes sense and it's a cool concept. With that said, I liked his look in mk9 way more and would prefer him to go back to that. I liked it when Ermac was a beast.

I really like the last design on the concept art posted, where he has a lizard mouth on the ninja mask. That looks great!

The problem I have with him is that he usually looks really cartoonish in comparison to the other characters. They need to make his scales much smaller and give him less of a beak.

Reptile was always one of my favorite characters but it's sad how no one really likes him or uses him online. Also, i really dislike his skin but i like his new Iron Skin which may or may not be real.

I hated that one, but it's a fake from DeviantArt.

Reptile looks about as good as he could have looked with his Tournament skin, IMO, even though I wish the mask was closed rather than lip armor...albeit the two best concept art renders didn't make the cut for MKX (Reptile's cobra, and Ermac's scarecrow)

They made all the bad guys look weak.... Man that was the lamest part of story.. Sonya beating up scorpion and Quan Chi... What a joke.

Having Quan Chi in handcuffs and then being decapitated was what ruined it for me I was like are you serious? He has the power to open portals, summon minions and the ability to use trance on opponents it was a total face palm.

Quan Chi was too weak, besided the fact that Hanzo is a remarkable warrior.

Also he let himself be captured, according to D'vorah.

About Sonya...she is human, but not as common as we are.

Her daughter has beaten mother ducking Shinnok possessed by Earthrealm's life force, I see no problem on her, at the peak of her skills, defeating Quan Chi.

Maybe he should have used more magic. Bad luck for him hahaha.

Sub Zero is trash compared to his past self/ves.
Goro is damn weak given his bulk, speed and the sheer amount of hits he needs to deal damage (read: give meter to opponents and leave himself open to being combo broken).
Lui Kang is not Lui Kang. More like Louis Kangez, if anything... and he's dead drunk. Just look at his pre-fight walk-on!
Johnny Cage's reputation blinds people to how egregiously they screwed him up this time around. His combos suck. His 'nut punch' has lost all its lustre (esp. now his feral daughter has the move too) and his moves overall are stagnant and have lost their personality... much like the character himself.
Shinnok is as cool as it gets, as far as Z-grade, lava-themed boss designs come.

Just watch how few of these characters cited will be prominent at Evo. And that's just an aside to how their actual designs have been bastardised.

You don't know what you're talking about. Sub-Zero was mid to low tier in MK9, and there are TONS of people asking for Sub-Zero to be nerfed in MKX. Particularly the grandmaster variation, have you seen the clone setups in the corner? He's such a deadly character.

Liu Kang is great as well, he does crazy ass damage and he's honestly pretty annoying to fight against. I do agree with you on Johnny though, he feels a lot different than he does in MK9. So floaty and slow compared to his past self.

As a Shinnok main, I can tell you that he's one of the worst characters in MKX as of right now. He can do absolutely nothing without meter, has shit wakeups, is unsafe on just about everything, and does barely any damage even with meter. Granted he does have some setups, but they're not guaranteed by any means.

I think Reptile is great as his is now aesthetically. I like the separation from the old palette swap human days long ago, but I'm glad it isn't as drastic as when he appeared with a tail, like in MK:DA.

His variations are an absolute bore though. I'm not the best player, I usually just stick to medium AI (where I dominate) and constantly change characters once I unlock their endings/kombat card items. Using Reptile though, I have to put in a big effort just to make use of any of the 3 power ups effectively. I just stick to the main moves with him now, so its really just like having 1 variation in the end.

One tiny thing that really bugs me about him is his second fatality. He spits acid in the enemies face, and their face melts off, good so far...then he runs up and splits the head in half. The second part of that just feels like another generic MKX fatality, nothing that relates to Reptile. It didn't even need to be included, the melting face is gruesome enough.

Tournament Reptile is awesome... Love the look of him in this one.

Syzoth for the win.

If you want a green human looking ninja. Use Sub-Zero and change the tv color settings
