Relatives from the revenants to be playable next game?

Also, we're forgetting that Kuai-Liang's new body is the result of Quan Chi sorcery, so we don't know how a Quan Chi created body / magic infused body ages or if it even does age, at all.

Quan Chi literally tore apart Cyber Sub-Zero (in the comics) and gave him a new body out of thin air.
While not all of the fight intros are canon, 1 of the fight intros between Sub-Zero and someone else (forgot who) confirms that this is exactly what happened to him.

Totally forgot about that detail >.>

Then, all logic about Cyromancers and what not is out the window since who knows what when through Quan Chi's plot-device magic mumbo jumbo.

See, and this is why stories in fighting games get looked at half assed. It's because you have moves like that which basically makes fans scratch their heads. We're trying to figure out whether or not he'll age slowly, and because you have Quan Chi resurrecting him to a brand new body, will he still age slowly or do new rules apply to each new body Sub-Zero gets transferred in?

Ugh, and they expect you to have requirements when trying to become a writer for them. -_-

Out of all the revenants, the only ones that I can possibly believe having any kind of family member show up from their past "live" lives are Kabal, Stryker, and Nightwolf.

I guess Sub-Zero too...but I'd rather they work on Frost's character development than just another new spawn of the Cryomancers.

Now do I want that to happen? Hell no. I'd rather have brand new characters with no family ties with previous fighters. I appreciate newbies more than just "oh, this is the cousin of so and so...I already have a bias for them". Cause that's what would happen if more family members show up out of the blue. I want my characters to have their own identity dammit!

...not saying the kids don't have their own identities, but come on. They will always be the "son/daughter of so and so" and will be compared as such, whether it is fair judgement or not.

Any official source on that, or is that just your own head-canon? I can't remember having read that anywhere.
I don't know where, but I remember reading it from somewhere.

Also this.

It wouldn't hurt to add another. Besides, I can see Kung Jin and Jacqui not returning to fight for a while.

If Kung Jin's ending is real, he'd be looking after his cousin who's been in the Netherrealm for a long time. And Jacqui can just stay behind and be their communications: like Ingrid Hannigan.

Maybe the next game could have Kung Jin as a Shaolin Warrior, Cassie & Jacqui taking over for their parents, and Takeda continuing to work with the Shirai Ryu, as it probably should have been in MKX, had the combined comics and game actually made sense together.

I feel like some people don't get the whole, "Some characters are having kids," thing. Not every character needs to have a child of their own or some relative of theirs to come into the picture.

Because if this were the case of all these kids, then hell, why don't we throw in Scorpion's dead kid into the mix, and all these dead relatives of our beloved characters?

We don't need more children come into play. I think the offspring that we have already is a fine number to be at for now.
