Ranked Matches Discussion

ranked matches

So I started playing some ranked matches the other day and firstly, it took a while to find an actual match.
But my main question is, how do they do the match making? Because after facing a few pepole with the same win/loss ratio they pair me up with the 5th ranked person on psn.

I don't get it either. The first time I played I only face people that were on my level, and after a 6 win streak I fought some dude with like 280/18.

From what I understand: It just matches you with a random person. However everyone has a TrueSkill rank (after completing the first match). If you beat someone with a higher TrueSkill Rank your TrueSkill rank will increase. However I imagine if you lost to that guy who was 280/18 you probably didn't decrease much in TrueSkill.
The unfortunate thing about this is... Who really cares about the TrueSkill rank all the way on the right of the leaderboards

Not sure either... But I think they go with win / loss ratio.

Like if you're 6/3 they might out u with a 12/6 since it's similar ratio. 150/75 looks pretty impressive but it's still the same ratio....

I don't know I'm probably totally wrong on this.

^^ yea you're wrong. Im like 340/41 or something like that and I get matched up wit new and inexperienced players about 50% of the time. Have also played half of the top 20 on xbox live wit varying results

This ^^

It's completely random, but the only complaint I have is that it takes way TOO long to Q up for a ranked match. Other then that sometimes you will face someone in a country like Brazil & have a ridiculously laggy match forcing you to change up certain combos or drop some all together.

yeah ranked matches really don't seem to have any consistency, 90% of the time I get matched up with kids who are 0/0

the other 10% is like 17/90

I agree.. I try to have something else to keep my attention and the matches seem to come alot quicker. Also agree about the foreign country matches... its really annoying when the lag is so bad you cant even combo

I never knew what it did. But people say it's based of W/L ratio. I usually just join rooms and find players from there.

It's completely random, which is retarded and that is why I don't play ranked. I was on maybe by 5th game and I got matched up with someone who had a no-lifer record of like 2000/150. I thought I was going to get wrecked but I dominated him.
 
How long should it take to get a ranked match ????

I think 20-30 seconds, but when ever i try its either quick or sit there for 3-5 minutes and then cancel.

for some reason when ever i get disconnected from the chat room menu and try to re enter i get a message " sever unavailable" if i immediately try to do a ranked match i have one in 10 seconds. EVERY TIME.

the chat rooms dont work again until i exit the online menu and go back

Mabe 10-15 seconds? How many people are playing this game online? There should be no excuses for waiting several minutes. It should find a match fairly quick. Maybe Im being too generous.

not only do I have to wait a stupid amount of time to get into a match, EVERY SINGLE G D ONE LAGS!

Its game breaking.

It takes me about a minute or 2 to find a ranked match and when the match starts its pretty bad but it gets better. I also just got the win 10 ranked matches in a row trophy by winning 5.

I've only played a few ranked matches. I'm an impatient person, if I have to wait more than 10 seconds for it, I don't even bother.

One thing's for sure, online needs to get fixed stat.

I tried getting into a ranked match for the first time last night and gave up after sitting for 5 minutes looking for someone to play. I'm just sticking to jumping into rooms and doing player matches for now.

i have yet to play a ranked match. never have i had to wait more than 2 minutes to find a match on xbox live with ANY game. i shouldn't have to wait longer than that for a game that put so much emphasis on online play and made everyone who wanted to play online buy a new copy. they better fix the online or else... well i cant do anything now since i already bought the game. :(
