Enlighten me then... What's the difference between wanting something to change and caring about it being changed? I mean, if you don't care about something getting changed, then why do you want it to change? If you didn't care, you wouldn't express such feelings about it.

Also, it is worth noting that you did indeed say you wanted it to change... so you actually go against what you first stated here, about being grateful for what you get... which you clearly wasn't then.

And one last thing... is it possible for you to reply to someone you disagree with without name-calling and attempts of belittling them? Calling people pathetic, unintelligent and what not... It really doesn't make you look good.

on topic: I agree this is not funny, at all. a few tweets in the beginning maybe, alright, I could accept that but this keeps going on and on and if Rain is out of the game again it's just plain cruel and insulting on Ed's part to continue this. Sheeva won't be in the game too but I don't see him teasing the hell out of her fans. anyways, I'm trying to stick to any shred of hope left that Rain is in, pretty sure they can do lots especially with variations that include water, lightning or even both combined

Here's the difference. I'll try to explain it as simply as I can for you, as you seem to be having trouble understanding. I want to see Kitana's face changed in the game. If it does happen or not it doesn't really matter, nor do I care because:
a) it's a video game
b) there are alternate costumes
c) there are options where her face is covered

I know it's hard to grasp your head around, but there is such a thing.

Oh please, if you genuinely think that I care about what makes me look good or not you're way more delusional than I thought. I don't live to please a bunch of nugatory people.

You can care for something to change in a character without caring for the actual character.
Prime example, for me: I could care less whether or not Johnny and Sonya actually make it, but if those 2 do make it (which seems likely), I don't want them to feel like Cassie because then it really would feel like 2 wasted slots.

I admit, it does really sound strange to me, that someone would want something, but doesn't care it happens. Apparently, you care enough for it to want it. It sounds very teenage angsty to me to be all "I don't care!" about something, yet you still want it. I don't believe in you when you say you don't care, and especially not after having expressed displeasure about it and THEN state that you want it to be different. It collides with my sense of logic.

"I want chocolate, but I don't care if I get it." ... That sentence doesn't make sense to me. But apparently it does for you guys.

That sentence makes perfect sense.

"I want to win the lottery, but I've come to terms with the fact that will most likely never happen so I don't care."

That may be a better example, does that help you understand? My guess is no.

As soon you show any form of interest in something, you care about it enough to do so. That is how I see it.

Or the fact that you don't want to see something else ruined by that other thing.
With my JC and Sonya example, if they are too alike Cassie and someone like Fujin doesn't make the cut, then yeah, that's a spot that they could've use for Fujin, but it would feel to me like it was wasted on those 2 instead.

I feel as though attempting to explain something this simple to him is about as ineffective as trying to teach a 2 year old a variety of mathematics equations. Just not going to work.

Agreed. I don't want Sonya or Johnny to be in the game... so of course I care if they are put in. It'll take up spots for other characters I'd like to be in instead. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

As for Rain... since that's what this thread is about... I'd be thrilled if he did return to the game, but I know his chances is on the lowest point, and I've come to terms with that. Doesn't mean I don't care.

There's a HUGE difference between "care" and "want," though.
Hatred or dislike for something can be seen as "caring" because you care enough to hate / dislike it, but that doesn't mean that you "want" it.
If you obviously dislike / hate the idea of something, you obviously don't want it.
Does that make more sense?

... You first tell me that hating a character can be seen as caring. And then you tell me that hating a character obviously means you don't want it. But you still say that there's a huge difference. I have yet to see what that difference is, because your explanation does not show that.

I'll give you a better example:

A person hates a certain topping on a pizza.
The pizza that a 2nd party orders comes with that topping.
That 1st person technically "cares" whether or not the pizza has the topping, as they don't like it or want it.
That doesn't mean that the person "wants" the topping on it, though.

That's basically the same as I said though. XD
They don't mean the same thing, I am fully aware of that, but they are connected. If you don't want something or do want something, then you care about it. If you don't care about it, you are indifferent about it.

So if you say you want something, say, Kitana's face to be changed, you show care about this particular topic. But if you say you don't care about her face being changed, then you would be indifferent, right? Saying you want it to means you care though.

As soon you say you want or don't want something, you show that you care about it.
Does that make sense?
